Two months ago, I was convinced Gutey would not draft a WR in the 1st round no matter what. Now, I'm not so sure... I think it would go a long way soothing AR's ego if Gutey drafted a WR at 22 for him, but who is that guy? Charles Davis has us taking Jahan Dotson at #22 and I just don't see it.
I don't think if it were me, I would draft a WR in the 1st this year, but I do think I might draft 2 in the second round, depending on the way the draft falls. I expect Gutey to trade up in the 2nd round to pick one of them though. (I hate trading up, but every team who needs a WR will try to get ahead of us at 53, because our need is so great.)
I would truly rather Gutey traded down from 28 and got more picks than trade up, but that's just me.

Agree about trading up and losing draft capital. Personally, I love idea of getting talented big bodies on defense (Wyatt), and an OT (Bernhard Raimann) and go WR's in round 2, but as always I think you have to see who fell and is sitting there when drafting vs making a blanket statement.
There are going to be a lot of very good WR's available in round 2. A lot! I just wish the Pack had one of the top 3 or 4 spots in round 2 vs #53. If that was the case I definitely would agree with your approach. My belief is the speed guy taking the top off the defense will be available later in the draft if need be. However that #1 receiver who you need to consistently get open on 3rd downs who can make that contested catch against top DB's needs to be elite. A cut above the others. Certainly a round 1 selection increases your chances of success.

This is a cool game and if you play it with your friends, you'll have a lot of fun. One of my close friends working at https://play-snake.co told me about this game and I have played this game with him quite a few times now. It's just awesome!
