Good - Packers!

Bad - using Preston as CB.

Ugly - Lions fans who could not watch the game, but left the its very early in the 3/4 quarter. Have dignity in win as in loss!

my daughter and family were at the game, she said the fans went from very loud and cocky to angry, booing, swearing, and leaving by middle of the fourth...they are never going back to another turkey day game this is five in a row for them, son in law says enough...long suffering lion fans...

That was terrible 4th down decisions by Dan Campbell - that one in their own 30 was an owner-killer.

There was nothing in the way that the Packers D were playing that suggested that they were leaking easy run yards or not containing the edge.

In all fairness, they just don’t have that much experience with winning. And they are probably very experienced at leaving in the 3rd quarter.

Good:
Opposing team turnovers and failed 4th down conversions. We should all be very thankful for these gifts.
The defensive GB line did a nice job today causing pressure while remaining in their lanes, as proof I offer the stat of 3 sacks. A very good D-team effort.
And Jordan, I'm still not in your camp but you had a nice day so I'll give you the props for it... We won't bring up the horribly under thrown first ball of the game, hey he stopped and got it for ya... or tackling/thwarting Dillon's attempt to convert a 4th down. Wonder if it felt Keystone Copish? It sure looked it.
Taking down and embarrassing the divisional leaders on their turf, on Thanksgiving, on national TV, Whoo haaaaaa !

The Bad:
The rushing game is still struggling and severely needs some O-Line leadership on the field. 109 yards total rushing but if you take out Loves broken play long run and a few second effort plays that broke out as a few gains then we're down around 50 yards total. Shameful...

The ugly:
I'm really stretching for some "Ugly" to write here. Oh I winced a few times as deep balls were thrown into our secondary and while a few of those could have been game changers our guys somehow came out on top.
I guess you could go back to the Keystone Cop play where Love tackled Dillion and kept him from converting the 4th down in the Red Zone, at their goal line or that 1st horribly under-thrown pass, but no sense in kicking the dog over them.

The Thankful:
The Divisional win on national TV and on a major holiday.
No fumbles in this game....
No Interceptions in this game...
No Special team blunders.
There is really nothing to scream at Matt or Joe about today.
We did not add to the injury roster with anything serious.
Our D-backs played above their heads for the experience they have.
I'm sure there is more.
And that post turkey w/trimmings stuffed belly/ post game nap that was extra peaceful with today's win....

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone !

Dillon ran the wrong way. Even the announcers said the blockers were all moving to the right and he went left.

There are those for whom it will never matter as Jordan Love will never measure up for reasons only they know.

It looked too me like Dillon wanted to run up the middle but the blocking opened up of left side of line so in my view it looked like Dillon made the mistake not love

Judging by how the OL moved, I think it’s pretty clear that they, like Love, expected Dillon to go the other side.

The ugly was Campbell. How nice it was to watch an opposing coach drag his team down for once. Campbell has had our number recently. Not yesterday. Coaching can kill a team. His did.

I'll say this about him, he is true to his philosophy. They throw caution to the wind. The turnovers killed them.

If a person was to consider a failed 4th down a turnover - they had 7 on the day.

Two thoughts: Did anybody notice Gary rushing from the right side, against the offensive left tackle, and Preston the reverse? This seemed to work well! Wonder if this was to force the Lions to prepare for either or if the coaches noticed something.

Concerning the short running game, why not try Rhyan in the H-back or fullback role? I really dislike trying these runs from the pistol formation, but being under center led to the collision today. We need a JUMBO package. If not, let's pass the thing. But remember, Jordan's key run, was on a 3rd and one, in which they used the read option. Maybe that's the answer, with a pass option.

Or, they get Runyan out of the lineup and do the "Love Shove." Haven't seen that since the game where they converted TWICE and it was called back both times because of penalties. Just give it a shot man, Love is a big QB.

I like it, why not have a specialist blocker do, you know, specialist blocker stuff?

Felt bad for the big guy on a couple of plays where he got lost in space and tired to orchestrate a combination pirouette/polka move to get back and block.

True! But like Leotis states, they do not use him effectively IMO. MLF uses this position normally so to stretch the defensive line and cause the competing D to place a man out further to maintain gap integrity. I do NOT consider this to be a JUMBO formation. I would rather have a 300lb fullback shoot to the gap they intend to run to, between the traditional tackles. I was just trying to provide a few other items the Packers could try, but not stating any of these would be successful.

The Good:
The entire team played great. A few hiccups but nothing detrimental. No turnovers on offense.

The Bad:
No turkey leg for Love?!?! Shame on you Fox Sports.

The Ugly:
The halftime show. What the hell was that?!?! Pathetic.

That "Grammy nominated rapper" (a phrase that should never be in the English language) sucked big time. I muted him and then (like watching a slow-motion train wreck) I couldn't help myself and listened to a few (!!) seconds now and then just to be sure it was as bad as I thought (it was -unbelievably- even worse). What an abomination for "entertainment".

The Good - Both offensive and defensive play calling! I've never said that much in the past 4 years! Honorable nention - Oewns and Gary on D.

The Bad - the Lions on 4th down.

The Ugly - The only ugly I can find is the 4th down hand off to Dillon where he and Loge collided.

Overall, what a gutsy effort! Love looked efficient, even without a running game. Dillon and Watson looked great in the passing game. The D line looked very good. The D looked opportunistic.

With all the injuries, the game plans and players were I sync!

The Good:
Jordan Love, the WRs, offensive line play, defense's pressures and turnovers, Rashan Gary and 3 sacks, MLF finally finding his playbook and being aggressive and yes even Joe Barry, less penalties, backups stepping up with so many guys out today with injuries, Owens' heads up play on the fumble

The Bad:
Run game was just so so.

The Ugly:
Carlson keeps missing XPs

only play calling I didnt like was the run run run punt after Love's long scamper...MLF went conservative there..I also think Love could have gotten another five yards or so maybe they would have had a better shot at FG..

The good: basically everything worked on offense except the running game until big downs when everyone simply forgot how to play (two drops and that horrible run by Dillon) but masterful performance by Love and he would've easily eclipsed 300 yards if Reed didn't drop that deep crosser. Great defensive effort, especially considering all of the starters missing. Valentine and Ballentine forced the receivers to work for every yard they got today. Even Jonathan Owens (who gave up a touchdown but hey, it's ok) had a crazy game. Rashan Gary, please rush from the left side more often (talking to you, Joe Barry)

The bad: missed extra points are amassing for Carlson and it's not a good look. The FG I will easily give him a pass on, 63 yards is no easy feat and he was only 2 yards short of it being good. Jon Runyan, come on Lafleur how many crippling penalties do you need to see from this guy before you finally make the change? Also, I think this is the only team in NFL history that has done an O-line rotations for multiple lineman, multiple times throughout the game. Just interesting.

The ugly: the Detroit Lions on 4th down, Jared Goff under pressure.

On to the next one!

Good - every starting player earning under $5M a year (and there's 42 of them of 51 man roster)

Bad - The Gute bashers, don't look now, he's constructing a competitive team with $100M of salary cap sitting on the sidelines

Ugly - The amount of crows that will need to be killed (for all the crow-eating that will be going on)........ "oh the crow-manity!!!!!!"

The Good: Watching with a room full of Lions fans.

The Bad: One play. Love and Dillon collide. One play is not bad.

The Ugly: Apparently, we passed up an opportunity for a 66 yard running start free kick FG right before half time opting instead for the 63 yard standard FG the fell just short. Matt has to be on top of that.

Good:
Beating the cocky Lions and their big dufus, and overrated coach, while a National TV audience witnessed the show.
Bad:
The Detroit security guard giving LaFluer the business.
Ugly:
The short yardage offense is offensive. I yearn for the days when Ahman Green converted these with his eyes closed.

Good: Going back to Wisconsin for Thanksgiving, witnessing the Pack victory over the Chargers AND watching that Lions beat down with family. And then the Seachickens not even showing up in a home loss. It will be fun flying back to the PNW today.
Bad: of course, the Dillon collision, but the double reverse (that was going to be passed to Love, I think) didn’t work at all. Picking nits here, but also Love underthrowing the long balls again. Man, the receivers are getting 2-3 steps…fix that (throw earlier?) and we’ll be dropping 40 on teams.
Ugly: halftime and the Fox guys love-fest for the Lions. They really want that Dan Campbell is awesome story line. What is he, like 20-24?

Yeah, 20-24 with the Lions, and 25-31 if we include his HC stint with the Dolphins. The guy is and always has been a talking bicep, it's just that the bar is set so low in Detroit that he's been christened as the messiah. .446 win percentage puts him well below Wayne Fontes and Jim Caldwell.

I think they'll go 3-3 from here on out, maybe 2-4 if Campbell keeps pushing the throttle on the hubris train. But, he's a MAN, dammit!

Good--gang tackling (and GOOD tackling) by the D. Constant pressure on Goff. Forcing TOs.
A FAST START on offense!
Attitude--Packers clearly came motivated and came to play.
Plug-and-play--making it go with younger guys in the secondary from further down the depth chart.
OL play for holding Hutchinson in check
Front 7 for keeping the Lions run game from busting out big plays all over like they did in GB
Resilience--every time the Lions mounted a drive or scored points, the Packers responded.
Seeing Dan Campbell's "Jesse the Body Ventura" schtick fall flat

Bad--a key 3rd down drop for Doubs (atoned for!), the lousy Dillon-Love handoff
Missed kicks
The defense starting to play soft shell coverage late
Still surrendered 140 rush yards and 4.5 ypc

Ugly--not much on this Thanksgiving!

Blessings to you all!

The good:

The young team showing improvement and stacking success week after week, particularly with all the injuries.

Watson making catches and contested catches.

Jordan Love making many of you doom & gloom naysayers eat crow. Week after week I find myself chuckling! I see today that after 11 games Love has the exact same # of TD's (11), and the exact same # of yards (2,599) as Rodgers had in the first 11 games in his first season. Crazy stats, but even crazier when you think AR had a better team coming off a 13 - 3 season the year before, much stronger running game (Ryan had over 1,200 yds), better OL, better & experienced TE's, and WR's.
