The Case For Aaron Brooks

Aaron Brooks' workout for the Packers has caught the eye of more than a few bloggers. My two cents would be thus:

Brooks was drafted by the Packers when McCarthy was on the staff, and then traded to the Saints when McCarthy was the offensive coordinator. Brooks went on to head a Top Ten offense with McCarthy calling the plays, actually looking like a bonafide NFL quarterback in the process. After McCarthy left, Brooks fell apart so bad, he was released and hooked on with a team who's offense was run by a guy who's last job was running a bed and breakfast who hadn't coached in over a decade.

So.

Has Brooks looked terrible recently? Yes. Did he look like a decent to even 'good' quarterback when he had McCarthy coaching him? Yes. Would it be the worlds worst idea to bring him in to be the #3 quarterback? No.
