Slight Pause In Our Programming

OK - this is really stretching it.

Faithful readers of this blog know that I try to keep things all Packers all the time. I stray every now and then. This topic can be traced to the Packers the following way:

The Packers play in the NFL. So do the Giants.

OK, now that I've cleared up the Packer connection, I just had to comment about New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg's comments regarding Plaxico Burress' situation and in particular his comment about the Giants:

"The Giants should have picked up the phone right away as good corporate citizens,” Bloomberg said. “I don’t care whether [there is] the legal responsibility for them to do it.”

OK, so I won't even get into the quote where he talks about how not prosecuting would make a "mockery of the law" - this from the man who just tore up the term limits of his own office without so much as a referendum. No, instead I'll just focus on the whole "good corporate citizens" aspect of the mayors tirade.

Ahem.

To be honest, I would be more surprised if Burress didn't go to jail. If he gets probation it will be due to his lawyer, who is the guy who helped P Diddy beat a weapons charge a few years back, and not because he is a star NFL player. The NYPD does not mess around.

Now that I read that, in a roundabout way, Burress would be getting off because he is an NFL players, because he is one of the few people who could afford that kind of representation. Anyway, you guys get the point.

OK time for a new theory.
On offense, the farther you line up from the ball, the dumber you are
On defense, the opposite applies.
Think about it.

Because the Mayor of New York is so up on his NY law, he's just correcting a previous statement:

"Mayor Michael Bloomberg spoke out again Tuesday, saying he talked to Mara and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. He told them the law says "you see something, you got to call the cops. That's the thing you should do." - AP story, source: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8882206/?MSNHPHMA
