Nice push by the DL and good wrap-up by Walker.

I just wrote that Morgan was probably the best RG on the team. He did not look so hot at LG on that play. Time to punt since Morgan's run blocking was poor. n Morgan's pass blocking has verged on the elite, at least in preseason games, so probably against 2nd stringers a lot of the time.

Radio guys are obviously employed by the Packers. Willis just missed golden. Inaccurate pass.

Nice looking drive from inside the 5-yard line led by Willis and the 1's. QB mobility is so much fun to watch!

Julian Hicks needs to block the bubble screen better than that. Bread and butter play in GB. He has been up and down and never threatened Heath or Hardman.

Another big hit and tackle by Hopper. This one causes a fumble that is recovered by Kalen King, his second nice play of the game.

Emanuel Wilson reminding people why he is a lock as the "runner" backing up Jacobs. Hicks redeems himself on the Hardman end around. Belton in. Donovan Jennings looks better run blocking than he does pass blocking.

The only lock at RBs was Jacobs and Lloyd. With Lloyd gone I see the top 3 as Jacobs, Wilson and Amar Johnson. Not necessary in that order by the end of the season. In light of Lloyd being out for a significant period they need to keep 4 RBs on the 53 with Lloyd on injured reserve. Time will tell.

You know what I like more than a 96 yard TD drive?

I still prefer wide receivers to wear numbers in the 80’s.

Cox did the same thing in the same place in the Jets game...Kalen King making a strong case for himself.

Kalen King has the intangibles and the heart but lacks the downfield speed for CB in the NFL They will target him with their faster WRs.
Cox on the other hand is a legitimate playmaker who definitely belongs in the rotation.

Stackhouse drew the holding penalty to negate the TD. Belton needs a little work still. Alexander should make the PS. Not sure who scooted into the backfield to make the shoe string tackle/trip up the runner. Nice play, anyway.

Edit: I am told it was king who tripped up the Seattle RB to help prevent a TD. King is probably a really good bet to make the team. I would be shocked if he doesn't.

Brinson with the pressure to flush the QB. Brinson > Stackhouse. Still hoping for both but Wooden may have done enough to make the team and I am not sure if they keep 6 DTs. I'd be getting a little nervous, were I McDuffie. McDuffie will make the team, it is not that, just not sure he sees any money in 2026 from GB.

Belton needs more work. 2nd time I wrote that. Beaten on a spin move and also a false start.

LaFleur appeared to be using the same high-level coaching techniques with Belton that he used with Quay; an animated discussion sans the "be smart" gesture. That should take care of it

My coach used to say, “Don’t be an idiot.” So before each decision, I’d ask myself “Would an idiot do this?” And if the answer was “yes”, then I would not do that thing.
Been using it ever since, and it’s worked pretty well for me.

Isaiah simmons with at least his second nice play. I think Simmons is the safest guy to release because I don't think anyone would put in a waiver claim for an iffy vested veteran. A waiver claim means Simmons is on full pay status for week one which in turn means he gets his whole year's salary guaranteed. It is not the much - just $1.17M but still. I think Hopper passed Simmons up.

Simmons is unlikely to ever become more than he is at this point in his career. He's been developed and he's spotty at best and a disappointment at worst.

Hopper is still in development stage and his potential is untapped.

I said it when they picked up Simmons and I'm sticking with it- I'm far more interested in the development of Ty'Ron Hopper than seeing if Simmons can salvage his career.

Me too. They invested a lot of time in Simmons, and they deprived Hopper of practice time with the #1 defense in order to do it.

Yeh, they're not throwing Hopper overboard. They'll have to move some pieces around to keep some guys off the waiver wire, for example to hang onto guys like Brinson, Wooden and Stackhouse. A few guys'll be released and brought back.

Amar Johnson makes an appearance with an obvious hold in pass pro that leads to a sack anyway. Penalty is declined but the coaches saw Johnson get beat. He looks like a PS guy to me.

PS > POS.

Just sayin’.

What I meant was, it’s better to make the practice squad than be involved in point of sale retail.

Hadden with a nice play. He had a nice scrimmage and is stacking successes today. Gets a slap on the back (or some other area) from LaFleur. Welch finally getting in. does that just mean they know what they have in him? surely they don't think they can fix Simmons, do they? Is that hubris? Quay, Edgerrin, Hopper and McDuffie are locks. Are they going to hide Jamon Johnson by not playing him altogether?

I lean towards Simmons. Why? Because any QB the Pack doesn't get pressure on will carve them up, whether it's Goff, Lamar Jackson, Aaron Rodgers. You will see that Caleb Williams is likely the best escape artist in the league, and Simmons has the ability to shoot a gap and track him down.

We're not lacking athletes at LB at this point.

After the 2024 butterfingers debacle, and not seeing any preseason action, my eyebrows raise at Reed and Wicks both being considered automatic locks on the 2025 53.

Bummer that they dropped too many passes last year, but I haven't heard anyone suggest that Reed or Wicks might not make the team this year because of that.
