Report: Packers and All NFL Players to Undergo HGH Testing
It appears a breakthrough has recently been made regarding the testing of NFL players for Human Growth Hormone (HGH) as part of the NFL's policy on substance abuse and performance enhancing drugs (PEDs).
There's been disagreement between the league and the players' union for years about how to implement such testing, delaying its approval.
The story is evolving, but the first report appears to have come from Albert Breer of the NFL Network via social media on Monday morning:
The NFL and NFLPA have made progress towards an agreement to implement hGH testing for the 2013 season. ...

Tom Pelissero of USA Today has more:
Filed to @USATODAYSports: the NFLPA has told players they must submit blood samples during training camp for an HGH population study.

Whether NFL players could be suspended from the aformentioned population study with a positive test is unclear at this point. Such a study could serve as a baseline with future tests used to determine whether players have been doping.
UPDATE:
Basically, study will determine if there's basis for the union's contention NFL players may have higher HGH levels then general population.

IF I were an NFL player I would start taking HGH now, it they aren't already. I don't think suspension will come w/ a population study, so if everyone has a higher baseline it'll be harder to find an outlier and suspend for it. I know this flies in the face of NFL testing, but I think most NFL players are using this or another PED.
Packers do a good job of staying ahead of these things to try to avoid suspensions, so not overly worried about it affecting the Packers.
This could get interesting tho.

Adrian Peterson is a class act and all that observe him say he works harder than anyone on the team. However, based on his unheard of recovery from ACL surgery I would be interested in his test results. If he is clean he is the 2nd coming of Jim Brown, if not there will be no mercy.

Yeah, that's a good call. I could totally see Colt McCoy taking HGH.
