Randall Cobb dealing with "significant" injury

Expect the core muscle injury will sideline the veteran receiver for multiple weeks.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur indicated during his Thursday press conference that wide receiver Randall Cobb is dealing with a "significant" core/groin injury and would be out for awhile.

"He's going to be out for a while" said LaFleur, while indicating Equanimeous St. Brown and rookie Amari Rodgers could see more time in the slot as a result.  The coach also noted the team would continue to move Adams inside.

Cobb is coming off a game that saw him catch four passes for 94 yards and a touchdown against the Rams.

Last season, Allen Lazard had surgery to repair a core muscle injury and missed six games.

LaFleur did not indicate whether Cobb would need surgery or not but don't look for the veteran back on the field any time soon.

As much grief as I would like to give GM ARod, Cobb has been an effective player. Hopefully Amari has learned enough to produce…

This will hurt more than most realize. Doubt we get at least one, maybe two of our wins so far without him. It was nice having a second reliable option behind tae. Let’s hope he’s back sooner than later

He stayed healthy a lot longer than I thought he would. Wish this didn’t happen so close to playoff time. Sux.

He was acquired for the playoffs. We can certainly win the division without him, just like the last two seasons.

He’ll be in uniform for the playoffs. Not worried.

Let’s hope, cause if not in the playoffs if I’m the opposing team I’m taking away Adams with triple teams, blitzing and loading the box again. We haven’t had an answer( wr #2) yet.

“ He’ll be in uniform for the playoffs. Not worried.” I hope you are right. Six weeks is probably the minimum time and maybe more to be ready to play. I have read that Lazard was hampered by his for even longer.

Coach Lafleur made the dumb decision to have Cobb return punts. Then Cobb, furious at himself for fumbling a punt, pushes himself into a serious injury. Will the next domino be good or bad, i.e., is Amari ready to step up and man the slot?

Maybe give Stills a tryout. See he was released recently! Just a thought!

I recall hearing AR saying something to the effect that he doesn't have time to teach a rookie how to play the slot. I think this is maybe going to have to change and it is time to give Amari more than a token appearance in the offense. Surely we can spare him from his punt return duties....

When we use a slot receiver, half the time it’s Adams or Lazard.

I don’t trust Amari—with anything. Some rightly said Jaylon Smith looked lost. That’s what I feel about Amari.

Give him a chance. We've hardly seen him in the offense. Perfect time to break him in to see what we have for the future.

Yikes he seems to have a surgery to correct his core muscle. Looks like he is done for the season that's big bummer this offense works differently with an experienced slot guy.
Again worried about our receiving team other than adams. Lazard is not himself this season and MVS is just a deep threat.
