Raiders No Joke

The great thing about having a Sunday free to watch any game you choose (Thank you Sunday Ticket) is that it affords you the opportunity to watch the Packers' next opponent. That would be the Oakland Raiders, who will now be coming off the biggest win of their season, beating a Broncos team much more convincingly than the Packers did on a Monday night in what feels like a lifetime ago.

Needless to say, RaiderNation is feeling pretty good about themselves. And why not? They've won two in a row, over division foes, and are playing competently on both sides of the ball. (Sorry, I just can't bring myself to write 'playing well' and 'Raiders' in the same sentence yet...)

The Packers simply can not take this game for granted. The Raiders are improving on offense, and have some talent at the skill positions, especially at the receiver position. If Woodson can't go again, it will be another stern test for Williams, Bush and Walker, not to mention Bob Sanders and the defense in general. They need to clamp down early and not let the Raiders ever feel they are in the game, or things could get ugly. Giving up points against the best team in the NFC at their place is one thing. Giving up points against the lowly Raiders could sew seeds of self doubt on a young team that needs it's confidence to be high heading into December.
