Put Up Or Shut Up

Mike Vandermause partially echoes Packergeeks and Cheesehead TV's sentiments: It's time for Favre to come clean and be heard on the subject of his 'unretiring' - we've heard from everyone, from Ted Thompson to Favre's mother, and now it's time to hear from the man himself.

This timeline laid out by Thompson and reported by Tom Silverstein will make it incredibly difficult for Favre to turn the PR tide his way. Up until now, he has counted on his history with the Packers and their fans and it has worked to his advantage. But the timeline given by Thompson paints Favre in an incredibly petulant light, and exposes exactly what's been going on between Favre and the Packers since Favre announced his retirement on March 6th.

As Vandermause says: It's your move Brett.

I agree, Brett needs to give his side of the story.

I will note the following: I can't get my mother to keep her mouth shut, so I'd love to know how everyone thinks Brett can tell his mom to shut up. Or his brother. Maybe he has, we don't know.

Also, all we hear is TT's side so far and of course it's going to make Brett look bad. The man is in a pickle, I accept that and his natural response is to defend himself (perhaps rightly so).

Look, I think we all need to remember what this guy did for this team. I am not saying he has not made mistakes, and I am not saying the Packers have a right to move on and pursue the future. But I do think that #4 deserves a bit more respect than I've been seeing on these blogs. Are you perfect? I sure as hell am not. I don't expect him to be, either, even if he does have 40 kazillion dollars and I don't.

While Brett will always be thought of as one of the best players the Pack has had during the modern era it is good to know, from the information we now have, that the Packers are the class organization they always have been. They wanted Brett back, invited him back and then moved on after repetedly being told he was not coming back.

We love you Brett but you are acting like a sissy girl. Knock it of and start being the man you have been for so many years.

Tired of the Drama...'s picture

I'm sick of Brett's antics every year. It distracts the team and is bad for the fans health. I can't take his drama anymore. I would rather lose with Rodgers (who by the way I think will be an excellent QB) than be held hostage by a man child. Brett Favre, have a little more class and grow up! The Packers made you, not the other way around buddy!

lostinutah, I understand where you're coming from, but why do we always here about 'how much Brett has done for the Packers'? It's not like the Packers organization hasn't given Favre many, many things over the course of their relationship...indeed, if it weren't for the Packers, Favre might never have had a chance to play at all. Not to mention the fact that the last three head coaches have been hired with the idea of keeping the West Coast Offense in tact for Brett. It's been more of a two way street than most people are willing to recognize...

I agree Aaron. He's lucky Ron Wolf saw what he did and brought him to at least be a backup. Let's celebrate what this partnership has wrought!
