Bottom line - this is not a good football team in any facet right now, but they have the talent and coaching history to right the ship. I expect them to struggle against the Lions next week, and lose against the Vikings unless they figure it out.

This is the worst they've looked with AR since 2009. A "come to Jesus" meeting is very much needed.

Agree Bear that the Offensive coaching staff can get make the necessary adjustments.

I do not share your enthusiasm for Dom doing the same.

The offense has to start figuring it out. There is just to much head scratching stuff going on with the offense.

I have said it a lot, but how they don't run a screen pass until the 4th quarter. I don't get. They use Ripkowski on a play and gets 20+ yards on the play, and brings excitement to the team. Then they don't do anything like that the rest of the game. They bring in Perillo and split him out wide, and then they bring in Janis and have him inline blocking. Who ever drew that up is a moron.
I just don't get what is going on with the game planning and play calling.

I do believe McCarthy will get the offense going.

The defense I think will turn it around. But I don't get what they are doing there as well. The biggest mystery to me is why Elliott hasn't been playing the last few games. He was providing a big play almost every game while playing. Also he was providing a nice rotation, and now he isn't being used.

Fair. But anytime the D is even mediocre GB SHOULD be very hard to beat. As long as the defense isn't a sieve, I'm ok. The O needs to be putting up 25+ NOT in garbage time regardless of opponent. That's the main concern right now.

That said... the D was freakin TERRIBLE in the 2nd quarter yesterday. Terrible.

Guys, This defense has always been mediocre. But, when they play with the lead, they create a lots of turn overs because the other team becomes 1 dimensional. It works with the Packers because the Offense was scoring points and Dom can tee off on opposing QBs. But when the O is struggling, don't expect a shut out performance. They will make a stop when necessary, like the INT in the 4th. But thats it. Until Capers is gone, which I don't think will happen anytime soon, we will live with this issue.

Next games are against mediocre teams and we will dominate. At home Rodgers is more comfortable and can dominate. Worried about away games against good defenses. That is when we are in trouble. I think we can win in Carolina come the playoffs. We will see... #GoPackGo

I think that 6-0 was produce huge mental issue for lot of players. It is nothing tragic, pure human reaction. Also, they fooled themselves that Broncos game was just fluke. How I know that? Look last 10 minutes of game vs Panthers. I accept that Panthers were in "prevent mode", but still I think that was the time when players finally got it! They need to play with full speed every game. They are not super humans and they will not win any game just because they come to the game... Next game might not be like dismantling of Lions, but I expect another record producing game, this time in favor of Packers...

The Lions are 1-7, not the type of team GB would play in the playoffs should they make them. The Broncos and Pathers are EXACTLY the type of team Green Bay would play. That's a problem!

Let's see - MM hires the coaches and TT hires MM and Mark Murphy hires TT. Seems to me the buck stops at the top. TT is Murphy's man and TT makes all personnel decisions, incl hiring the HC and picking the players. MM hires his assistant coaches and trains the players in his scheme. If you ask me, there is plenty of blame to go around, especially when you start with the fact that today's game is QB driven and we have the best QB on the planet. That implies that everything else is really f'd up.

But isn't this really an indictment of the whole Packers organization. And if it is, isn't it an indictment of professional football in general? And, if it is an indictment of the NFL, America's most popular sport, isn't it also an indictment of our American society?

You can say what you want about the Packers, but I'm not going sit around while you badmouth the United States of America.

WKU... .. Love what you bring to the site with your comments and insight but I'm concerned solely on who and how badly the Packers have been beaten by "Playoff Teams". Granted Seattle was a quality win but it also came without Kam playing, huge difference.

Are you confident the Packers will beat the Vikings, Cardinals, or Raiders on the road now? How about Dallas if Romo and Bryant are back? I'm sure and the hell not so if this team isn't the 2nd seed at the worst I think they struggle.

Thanks Nick! Love your comments also. Sorry for the delay. After my emotion comment I banned me for the rest of yesterday.

The two losses I see are Dec. 20 @Oakland and Dec. @Arizona. Oakland is much better than their record suggests, especially on offense. However their defense is suspect. If AR and the guys can find their mojo this could be a high scoring game. Arizona doesn't need much analysis, they're good. In addition, that is a tough back-to-back trip.

As to the rest, I think all are wins. Detroit is flat out horrible, I tortured myself watching the London game. Minnesota was offensively challeged before Teddy's concussion, Diggs and CJ are the only good WRs (I refuse to discuss a certain child beating RB).

Dallas is a tough one to figure. Romo will be back and Dez is getting back in form. However , their defense is suspect and, other than Dez and Witten, the offense lacks playmakers. I think GB takes a close one at Jerry World.

In the Packers offense they say that the FB and TE position is interchangeable. So why not start using him in place of a TE.

Lets face it, until we get Quarless back, we don't have a good 2nd option at TE. So why not use Ripkowski.

If he can't do much down the field as a receiver, then use him on little plays out of the backfield. Still can be effective.

Good - 4th Quarter comeback. Randall's interception. Jones 4th Down catch.
Great attempt to come back. They were very close at having a chance to try and tie the game up.

Bad - Play calling - both offense and defense. play clock management.
I still don't get how there wasn't a screen pass until the 4th quarter. And how they managed to leave Goodson in a lot of 1 on 1, i don't get.

Ugly - The Packers.
Just an ugly game. They started out well, and finished well. But the whole middle of the game was brutal to watch. If they did anything at all in that stretch they could have had a better chance at a come back at the end of the game.

Jake Ryan and the two Randalls in the good. I know Jones didn't doo much but that contested catch was amazing. Starks needs to start that's for sure.12s comeback was good pretty much everyone else (including clay) in the bad or ugly. Watching this defense not get a freakin sack is beyond aggrivating.

I just don't get why we don't see Elliott in pass rushing much anymore. He has been good at getting to the QB, and now he isn't being used?
Every game he was in playing a lot he was making at least 1 big play a game.

Well, common conclusion for having no sacks in the last 2 games is (most of the fans) that guilty guy is Dom Capers. I already gave my thoughts about that type of conclusions - Dom Capers was HC of Panthers and he wanted Panthers to win this game. That is why he forbid PAckers D to make any play that might produce the sack, as well as any play which might produce pass break. For the interception, Randall will be punished!

First Peppers is 35. Lets give him some respect. He is not going to be the almighty pass rusher he once was, that shipped sailed a while ago so cut him the slack he's earned it.
Second, lets talk ugly. Pass defense is non existent. Its worse than ugly because it will be the same one that goes against the Lions/Calvin next week and Teddy b the following.
You CANNOT win with those guys giving up that kind of easy yardage. Randall and Demetri Goodson - whereever cheap ass Ted got him from, are not going to stop anyone.
Last, Lacy. Lets put that horse to sleep for the year and use the third string guy to back up Starks. This attitude that we have a two pick invested in him he has to play is BS and we all know it. He came to camp fat, out of shape and not ready to play. Bench him.

DE - I'm not taking this out soley on you, but I've had enough of comments on Lacy's girth. No one (to my knowledge) knows what weight the Packers wanted Eddie to be prior to camp. No one knows for sure if he's out of shape now.

I guess the thing that bothers me is Eddie seems to be a caring, sensitive young man. Check out the sories about his family's struggles after Katrina. Comments about "being fat" could be very hurtful.

I felt good walking thru there territory looking smiling at them with the evil grin look.

Bad= Being down by 20 so you leave the game early only to miss some Garbage time tds that you are used to seeing other teams get on your team.

Ugly= My face as I walked out of my seats. The whole row of Panthers fans wanted a fist pump from me. Lol

I like some of the changes we mad on D. We ran more base 3-4 and finally by the blessings of God replaced Palmer with Ryan. Who played ok and had about 8 tackles. If we can just get our Secondary healthy hopefully the D can step up.

Considering that the defense gave up 37 points on the road and he was sack 5 times, hit 14 times and hurried too many times to count, plus his receivers dropped 8 passes I think he played pretty well. It's not the QBs fault that the defense could not make a stop in the first half. If you give up 37 points, especially on the road you are probably going to lose. Now if you expect the offense to average 40 points a game you will be disappointed about 95% of the time. Thanks, Since '61

I really don't get why they kept Goodson in. He routinely got burned and they kept sending him out there.

This is not something new. Goodson had that happen to him in the preseason. Gunter in the preseason played very well... Why he didn't get played ahead of Goodson, i have no idea.

I think its time coaches start having a bit more knee jerk reaction to players. If they are performing poorly, pull them and get someone else in there.
They did that to Palmer and Ryan came in and played well. Why they didn't do that with Goodson, I have no idea.

FWIW, the initial PFF grades published free have Sitton (+3.8), Lang (+3.2), Perry (+2.8), Burnett (+2.7) and Jake Ryan (+2.6) as the highest graded packers.

Carolina's RT (+4.1!!!), RG (+3.2) had high grades. That means they dominated the guys across the line from them, at least in PFF's opinion. Kuechly (+3.4) TE Olsen +2.8) and WR Funchess (+1.7) had good days as well.

Yeah, even though we're giving up huge amounts of passing yards, I'm not sure that the secondary is the problem with this defense (though injuries have made it more difficult back there). Earlier in the year, the Dline was getting some serious push, which was making the whole defense better. The last three weeks, the Dline has gotten very little push against some very suspect olines, which is rather concerning.

I think the biggest thing that would set this team in the right direction is improved play by both lines.

Yesterday was the first game in a long time that I stopped following before halftime. But sign me up as a volunteer on the Clinton-Dix fire department. I appreciate the attempt at motivation.

There appears to be plenty of interrelated problems with this year's team, some of which are old issues. Strength and conditioning problems seem to be occurring again, not just with the injured defensive backfield and with Lacy, but especially the offensive line. Also, Dom Capers' defense -- bend but don't break we'll hold you to field goals -- is predicated on having a great offense. When you start losing time of possession because your offensive is ineffective, the defense gets gassed and injured. When they have won the TOS battle their defense this year was ranked among the best in the league.

I don't know how to fix the offense, but I'm sure that not having Jordy ultimately isn't the real problem. He's been injured before and they have played pretty well without him in the past. The offensive line regressing, the lack of a good tight end, and Lacy's troubles have exposed the mediocrity of the wide receiving talent.

It was so obvious GB was going to get beat with its typical game plan, lack of creative pass formations and routes....but we all dealt with that in the 240 posts yesterday. Isn't that a record? Guess everyone was a little fired up?
No wait, I think of 2nd and 18 on the GB 10, and they call a run and pick up 3 yards. Then of course the whole stadium knows 3rd down and pass...and leads to another punt. Jeez. What stupidity. I'm gonna vent all week.

Two holes that were not adequately addressed in the past 2 years are TE and ILB. It is inexcusable to not tap into free agency and also add higher caliber picks via draft, and we're paying for ignoring these weak positions and has ripple effects and result in both poor run stoppage and poor past defense in the short-middle. Carolina just moved at will, made. Carolina of all teams. Look what a decent TE such as Olsen can bring. But we have RRogers from the 3rd round. Wow. We're one weapon short from TE.

So whos fault is that!!! The minute anyone suggests TT should shoulder the blame they're attacked! Thompsons drafts from 2011 and 12 has kept this team in "Catch Up mode" in the draft because there's always new holes to fix or ones he just continues to IGNORE! He refuses to ever trade for or sign someone in FA , something I suppose you could do should you hit on each pick or over Draft a guy like Thornton, Richard Rodgers, Alex Green for example. The Packers can't just address an area in the draft and expect it to work right away. Look at what Atlanta did in Free Agency this year. They signed several FA after all the maddness dyed down and got excellent production from them. It's obvious you can't "Rebuild through Free Agency, but used correctly it can be a huge tool. Thompson COMPLETELY misses the boat on this!

What I find amazing is when I watch teams complete long passes on the Packers defense or complete 20 yards passes over the middle of the field, where is the safety help? HHCD or Burnett are never anywhere in sight. EVERY other team I watch I see the safety help on deep routes. Personally I think Perry should be shown the door...TODAY and send a F'ing message to this staff. Why should they be concerned for their Jobs, it took McCarthy YEARS to fire Slocum.

The Packers, and other teams do as well, burn timeouts because of clock management.

I know that these players and coaches have forgotten more than I will every know about football BUT timeouts are like gold.

No time out should ever be called because the play clock is running out. Just take the penalty. Even if it is 4th and inches.

Timeouts are needed for last two minutes of the half and the game.

And certainly never for defense.

It is so frustrating watching the play clock run down but more frustrating when Rodgers calls Time Out?

What do you guys think?

After the past two weeks, the Lions probably think they have a chance in Lambeau next week. Now that would be Ugly.

We need more Elliot, Ryan and Ripkowski , tomorrow is now . Ha Ha and Lacy must have been celebrating the Alabamba win and forgot they had a game to play.

And what the hell is wrong with Masthay? I'm fat and have the flexibility of a desert tortoise, but I can consistently punt a football 35 yards of more. He had a nice kick or two yesterday, but he also had one (maybe two?) just absolute shit-burgers.

I think we can make conclusion when summarized your comments: "Packers sucks from the Murphy, over TT, MM, coaching staff, players and all down to cleaning personnel!"
You are the owners. Fire everybody! Start from the scratch. I'm sure you'll have better records and better team!
But it will be interesting how would all of you comments when Jags will come to the town and kick your ass. Who will be guilty than?
Packers has legendary manager (Ted Thompson!), the second best Head Coach in this league (trailing just Bill Bellichik!), legendary DC, very good OC (I remember all of you where voting that Edgar Bennett become OC!), Packers have one of the best QB in NFL, had a lot of talent on the board, one of the youngest team in NFL, havew 6 - 2 records. They have 2 losses against at that time 2 unbeaten teams at their home fields, while Arizona (you have a full mouths of that franchize!) have the same record, but their losses came from Rams at home (Packers won that game!) and Roethlisberger less/Bell less Steelers away...
