No. No he isn't. Gutey needs to Run. Just as fast as he can. Combine stats: 2014 WR 73 212 4.56 14 123 4.30 6.82 39.5. Career stats 669 REC 8,121 YDS 12.1 AVG 66 LNG 73TDs 8 seasons $30,752,746. Roster Bonus 10,218,750 And now he wants to make up for a career? @ 30,000,000.00 a year. Do you know what that is a catch, for a guy that can't run under 4.5 anymore?

I agree Davante is not worth $30M a year, but that's not a knock on Davante's abilities, that's just that I don't think any single WR is worth that money considering what you could spend that much on elsewhere.

Adams' speed- you continually harp on his speed- doesn't limit his production on the field. He was never a burner, but he's always been about average in terms of speed for a WR, and still is.

The NFL is chock full of great WR's who don't run 4.4 or lower. Al Davis famously said "Speed kills", and he spent the later part of his life proving it- mindlessly drafting physical specimens who didn't play football very well, effectively killing his teams for decades.

Adams is worth it if anyone is. He just isn’t for us. We flat out can’t afford him with Rodgers and have anything like a roster at that price however and we would be better off using the money elsewhere if we don’t have Rodgers.

I'm an ardent career long supporter of Adams, but I can't say he's worth $30M / yr, when you consider you could have two top-15 type WRs for the same price.

Beyond the idea that you can't double two #1 type WRs on the field at the same time without serious compromise to your defense, dumping $30M into one receiver is an injury away from being $30M wasted. Same goes towards a potential slump year. Becoming disgruntled. Yadda yadda yadda.

Adams is a beast and has a strong claim to the best WR in the league when you consider his consistent top level production over the last 4 - 5 years, but I just can't say any single WR is worth $30M.

I tend to agree at 30 million, regardless of how good the WR is. To get close to that kind of money a team must see the player as a vital addition that takes them over the top. There may be a team out there where that might be true, but it’s certainly not us at this point. Were Adams that (echoing Taryn) we would have seen it in the last two playoffs.

Jordy Nelson didn't get re-signed because of his speed.

Jordy Nelson didn't get re-signed because he was showing that injuries and age were taking their toll on his performance, and it showed on the field.

That isn't the case with Davante Adams at this point. Although his concussions are worrisome, his on-field performance is as good as even.

Stock holder I totally agree. He is an excellent receiver. But his lack of speed keeps him from screeching the field. If Rodgers goes then for sure I wouldn't sign him unless you can a sign and trade.

I wish. Even if the Packers want to resign Adams, the money is not there. The Cap is all tapped out thanks to Gute going all in this season. That's the way it is....

Nags- If Aaron wants to go all in as supposedly the Packers are reportedly willing to do, perhaps he would be willing to sign a team-friendly deal, or even better yet, return a few mill for his pathetic showing in the game against the 49res. But I realize that is not how it works.
If the Packers trade Rodgers with his blessing then that means they are all in with Love as their QB of the future or at least he is worth moving forward with. If they are going all in on Rodgers that tells me they either don't have faith in Love as their future QB or he is not ready. If he is ready, it is a no brainer to trade 12 while they can get the most compensation for him. The irons will never be hotter than now.

$30 million for a WR whose play hasn't enabled a HOF QB to win an SB likely won't be the guy to help the same or new QB to win one after paying the $30 million. It's essentially saying only he gets to play because of the value and expectations that come with that type of money. Adams deserves a payday, but one within the realm of common sense. honestly, I find it hard to justify anything over $20 million, and that isn't limited to Adams.

His agent understands you got three years left of getting the bucks and then its downhill skiing after that. Of course he is asking for the moon why wouldnt he, this is his last op to get the big money.
This is when a team like the Vikes says, thanks we got all we wanted out of you, now that you still have value we are trading you for picks and getting out of paying you a ton o money.
Packers havent figured this out yet. They like the loyalty thing and forget its a business treat it as such and move the f on.

Rodgers will be announcing anytime he is coming back. I thought he was. No way was he going to any other team where he isnt given total control over the coach and Gm like he has here. Stupid he aint.
Besides, it was just announced he broke up with girlfriend living in Colo so he aint going to Denver anytime soon either.
My take, he told her he wanted to stay in GB and she said adios sucker I've waited too long and you have the op to come here to Denver and wont do it.

And today I read a story where Hackett is going all in with the Denver FO to make a deal for Rodgers to come to Denver. He might be very persuasive and they try it. Let's see what happens. I hope they do.

You and me both. While I love both AR/DA, I just don't see how the long-term health of the team could survive if we brought them back.

Hoping AR takes Gutey off the hook and requests a trade to Denver and they offer enough in compensation to make it all worth-while. That would be too quick, too easy. All tied up in a bow just isn't Gutey's way. ; )

Davante does have anywhere even near those those numbers with out rodgers throwing to him. Good receiver nowhere worth 30 million. maybe half of that considering his age and speed

I’m sorry. I love Adams but he is not worth 30 mil a year cap hit. Between him and the QB that’s an absurdly large percentage of the team cap. Time to move on. Tag and Trade Adams. Will bring back a first at least. Trade AR for a first and more. Bring in a solid QB to compete with Love. Or if not sold on the lad trade him for whatever he brings. Wheel and deal and turn the extra ones into multiple picks. Use the draft capital to build for the next 5-10 years. There have been far too many brutal playoff games to continue as it is now

OK, Cheeseheads. When are you finally going to figure out the dynamic trio (Murf, Gute and Flower) have no clue what they're doing. Another NFC N meltdown?

Lol Not a good value in any sense. Love him but it would be a huge mistake to further cripple the team financially.

Under no circumstance does it make sense to resign Adam's for any amount of money. Lacks speed and 29 years of age. Adam's should be traded (tagged if necessary) and get as much as they can. I see him worth a 2nd round pick but much prefer a 'proven young WR/TE on their rookie contract' like Jerry Jeudy, or Noah Fant.

I think you first have to ask yourself is Adam's worth the money if Rodgers is throwing to him vs it being Love throwing to him?

At the end of the day Rodgers throwing to Adam's causes Rodgers to become myopic and not as effective because he cannot stop himself to the detriment of the team. Therefore, the answer is no!

The Packers are not going to have the same game plan every weekend for Love as they do for Rodgers. If Adam's is retained not only is he taking up a lot of the cap but he would be underutilized. Additionally, Adam's will stunt Love's growth if he is Love's main focus.

Love throwing to him, seriously?

**************************

Dr Love can throw the ball? Surprised me. If AR does come back Dr. Love is trade bait, maybe a 6th rounder and done.

The bottom feeders, aka GB, will franchise him because it's the cheapest way to keep him around. Doesn't matter if the jerk shows up next year or not. I hope he does so I can again, 3 years running now, at the Cheeseheads low bar goal of NFC N.

It's GB, the same shitty team you root for if they can get the ship on course, which I doubt with the 3 capt's currently there. Otherwise it's the Dolphins, if they force the owner out and get Tua better or dump him.

What percentage of the cap space will a resigned AR and tagged Adams take? I don't think the team can keep both. If GB does keep the part-time GM around, they risk upsetting him again as they release Cobb, who should not be kept around, then do they risk another bout of tears and a tantrum?

30 million? No way! Maybe put the tag on him & see if you can get some picks?
ARod is worth 30M, Aaron Donald is worth 30M, Tae is not in their area code, fix the damn offensive LINE!
