Any bets on the vikings pumped in noise being louder when the Packers have the ball?

Don't home team crowds make more noise during opponents offense, so where's the issue. If the NFL didn't create a high-low noise factor to make it as 'real' as possible, then perhaps visitors are getting an advantage.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Thursday that it will provide a loop of pre-recorded crowd noise specific to each team’s stadium that must be played over the PA system in empty stadiums -- and partially filled stadiums, at least to start the season -- at 70 decibels starting at kickoff. NFL ops will monitor the audio throughout the game to make sure that the crowd noise does not go above or below the required decibel level.

It's called Home Team Advantage, and it is as it should be.

I don't see Mack having much of an impact this year, but he could be a starting NT in the near future. He's way more athletically gifted than Lancaster or Lowry.

They signed him to help in the run game this year and back up Clark. If he doesn’t help, signing was not optimal. It is a benefit that he has upside for more, not the motivating factor I believe.

Just announced onto practice squad so looks more like developmental move for the future.

Mack could be for development. He could also be used very soon for 2 reasons:

1) 2 players from the PS active on game days each week

2) Players more frequently being placed on short term IR. Unlimited players can be brought back from IR after only 3 weeks of being on IR this year. M. Adams could still go to IR, if Mack was more promising, etc

BG wisely might try to game the system this year. He is hoarding potential talent and more frequently rebalancing the squad for roster upgrades.

The cumulative amount of players elevated up from the PS could be slightly greater than the amount cut/dropped down off the 53:

1) Sign one more player to the 53 after Game 1 whose contract would not be guaranteed (Justin Britt, Veldheer, Snacks etc)
2) When a player needs short term IR:
a) bring up PS player (Mack, Foster, Harris, Barnes etc)
b) OR Try to poach another promising player off someone else’s PS or sign FA
3) Bring IR player back in 4 wks if better option than current depth at that position
OR leave player on IR for longer if ok at that position for now
OR swap one player off IR and another one on IR (players could be from different position groups). And over time a few bottom of the active depth players might be left on IR for a little longer until needed. Like a mini 53-PS (So ex: 3-4 players on IR at a time and 53 active, plus 16 PS)

BG = the Juggler. Keeping many balls in the air and cycling them well enough that you don’t let any important balls drop (to waivers).

4) Rebalance (occasionally) with a few cut players trying to send down to PS (Taylor not panning out? Foster showing more)
5) Rinse and repeat

I do feel for players like Crockett that might get yo-yoed on and off PSs more frequently than usual. But the team might continue to round into a formidable unit.

Good analysis.....I've stated in the past the FO and coaching staff will never be more important then this year.
