Draft and development is a nice way of saying, we want late round draft picks who are cheap.
Two years ago Zimmer cut a kicker who missed three field goals in a game the vikes lost. When asked why cut a new young kicker and not let him develop, Zimmer replied 'were not in development mode but the win now mode' and he meant it. The Vikes draft people with smarts and skills so they can play right away even if on the second team.
It costs too much capital waiting for someone too develop, many never do waisting coaching time and causing loses due to mistakes.

Draft and Develop is the bread and butter of the Packers and will be for a long time. Getting FAs is an issue for GB no matter how much one denies it. This forces GB to be that much better in the draft, regardless of where that position is in the selection order. They have to have better scouts and the coaching up needs to improve, and the time allotted for player growth needs to be shortened. They have had some bad draft classes since the SN win, and they cannot afford anymore, and it must begin this year.

Yeah, sure thats why the Vikings are so great. Good example, very smart. We should never developed AR, Adams, Jordy...no one. What a wast of time. Lets pay millions for FA who are nearly never worth there money.
But I can get over it.....the Vikings are in a "win now mode"???? What??? Worked out great. Im afraid to see them if they in a "Rebuild" mode.
Sounds like orange logic. Everything up side down. Good is bad and truth is fake and weak its strong, cowards are heros. But hey, maybe the Packers are the Vikings and they just switched with spacelasers. On our flatearth everything is possible
Besides that, draft and develop is like the whole leage works. But who cares about sense. Like you said its a wast of time and money to develop. Buying is way cheaper, you can even have a biding war with lunatics like Jerry Jones. So you are able to pay a couple of millions more if you are lucky.
