The Packers have signed wide receiver Cody Chrest, a rookie out of Sam Houston State, following a workout with the team on Tuesday.
To make room on the roster, they have released wide out Jeff Cotton.
The 6' 193 pound Chrest was at Harvard before transferring to Sam Houston State. He 's a speed merchant, having run the 40 in 4.38 seconds with a RAS of 9.77. He's already spent time with the Colts and Steelers this offseason.
Cotton started camp on the PUP list and will undoubtedly be given an injury settlement.

Speed kills (hopefully the Bears).
Camp legs. We'll see about the hands.
Shouldn't opening day of camp be a holiday?

Same exact 40 speed as Jeff Cotton.
I can't hate this.

It would be fun to be fast.
It would be fun to be a great athlete.
It would be fun to be a wide receiver at Packers training camp.
Without wanting to minimize the heat -- and the exertion and toughness demanded of these guys trying out as pass catchers -- I hope they enjoy the experience, and all the best to them as far as making the team.

Cody Chrest!!
How does a 38" vertical grab ya?
This kid has off the charts RAS numbers.
But then again, so did Jeff Janis and Kevin King.
Well...lets see if his 7 years of college ball has done him well to crack a NFL roster.
The Colts and the Steelers didn't think so, but you never know.

Yeah, I know... Only way he makes the 53 is if he can play STs too... Hence the question, "Can he tackle?"

I think if he makes the 53, that speaks volumes about our receiver room...just sayin.

He'll be PS material until he learns the system. Same for DuBose and Wicks, IMO. Love his speed, though. He'll definitely start out on STs, if he makes the 53 man cut. In the meantime, I'm rooting for Reed, Melton, Heath, Watts and Toure to step it up, in camp. GO PACK, GO!!!
