Wilkins originally signed with the Packers as a rookie free agent out of Arizona State.
He spent the entire 2019 season on Green Bay's practice squad.
The move comes after the Packers drafted Jordan Love in the first round of this past weekend's draft. For now, the virtual quarterback room will also feature starter Aaron Rodgers, last year's primary backup Tim Boyle as well as undrafted free agent Jalen Morton.

Packers are likely to only carry 2 QBs in 2020 (if/when there are games). The writing is on the wall for Boyle. He'll be auditioning for a new team.

Boyle will stick around long enough for Love to learn the system, then he is gone. If they keep three QBs (which I don’t think) they will keep another young guy to see how he develops. With Boyle they already know what they have, which isn’t much.
