Packers have 10 selections in 2020 draft

The team will receive a 6th round pick from the Reggie Gilbert trade.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst met with local reporters Friday afternoon in advance of next week's trip to the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

Gutekunst told the assembled ink-stained wretches that the team will receive a 6th round draft pick for the trade of Reggie Gilbert, bringing their total number of selections in April's draft to 10. (They are not projected to receive any compensatory picks this year after Gutekunst's extensive use of free agency last offseason.)

Hope they don't blow it on a DL. WR/RB/WR Give me 4WRs this draft and I'll bet Lazard Lines up a TE.

Any TE who doesn't line up with his hand on the ground is lining up as a WR. I don't think Lazard will be lining up as a TE any time soon.

As always seems to be the case stockholder, I disagree with almost everything you say.

I hope they DO get a DL, it's one of their biggest needs to get someone to be what Mike Daniels was, next to Kenny Clark.

They won't have Lazard at TE because they have already converted Looney from DL to TE. these kind of conversions normally happen when a guy is not effective at his original spot and Lazard has been a pleasant surprise.

More than 2 WRs is likely to be a waste. the Packers already have their 1,4,5,6 receivers (Adams and three of Kumerow, Lazard, MVS, ESB). They certainly need a no.2 and another addition that can play slot would be fine, but 4 x WRs is just throwing away two picks.

You need to understand this. After the top 15 picks. No DL is going to come in and start. It took Clark 2 yrs. just to learn it. And he had Daniels, then in his prime. I have been telling you for the last two years to draft a DL. Gute ignored every sign of a DL failing. And the injury to Wilkerson. He even waived Daniels creating a bigger void. Thinking Gary was a bigger prize then Wilkins. Was wait and see. I disagree with you on DL because the only way to fix the DL, is to fix it through Free- Agency now. You can't wait for a draftee to develop at DL. What you fail to realize is that every Super-bowl winner/// had the trench as priority ONE! Gute has made it worse. They don't have Lazard at TE because their WRs suck. They still will draft Te regardless. WRs: The slot is the problem. Adams even went there a couple of times last year. Draft two(Slot) because they don't have one. I say two wide, because the others have been so bad after St.Brown. Injuries have shown us two more maybe needed!!! // This Draft is to deep to say it will be a waste of picks,

GB didn't miss Gilbert and gets a 6th. As it happens, Gilbert played 295 snaps and played well though he has no eye-popping stats. Good trade for both sides.

Well done, Gute.

5 of those 10 picks come in rounds 6 and 7. As we saw a year ago, the calls for the Packers to trade them away because 10 picks or late picks in general "won't make the roster anyway" are due to start soon. If we buy into the old draft pick value chart, all 5 of those picks together add up to the 11th pick in round 5 and do little to add much maneuvering power in the early rounds of the draft. As for myself, I like having a lot of shots...even if some of them are late.

I'm torn. I want the Packers to have more picks. But I want them to move up, but moving means losing some of those picks, and I don't think the Packers are in a position this year to do so. Ugh! I wonder who and how Gute got his draft board set for this draft...

Gute needs to stay put. My Top 3 first. Tee Higgins, Swift, and I'll take Lewis over Murray. Pick Lewis! Top 4 in 2nd. I have AiYuk, Raegor, Mims, Jefferson. Pick ends up Mims. Poss.Trade in rd.2. Top 3 in the 3rd. Cleveland, Dye, E.Weaver. Pick Cleveland. from 4-7 if he stays put. He'll get some east west all-stars. I see three OL I would take. Ronyan, Pollard, Walker Little ,many Rbs and Wrs. Waiting on combine.

46 guys on gameday, 53 man roster, 8 more on practice squad. That’s 61.

Now subtract anybody who retired, or left in FA. Or just isn’t around: Graham, Taylor, Allison, Martinez, Fackrell, Adams. That’s six guys on the 46 man squad, before any upgrades or injuries. So 10 picks is good. Odds are that one your first three picks never amounts to squat but if a 7th rounder or a UDFA comes through it offsets that.

In 2009 TT drafted Raji, Mathews, Lang. He hit all ; plus traded away the 3. 5-7 depth. In 2014 TT hit Ha HA ,Adams and Linsley. Both drafts were A on most players. While Gute has traded players and Picks. One still must wait. Are Needs fit the 2009 draft. Gute must pick up a DL in FA though. The rest he can duplicate and get better value, ( then TT ever did this draft.) Look at The Board. I preferred a WR 1@2. But The top 5 won't make it to 30. Lewis could be this years CM3. #62 Wr: brings you a Slant /// Wr. #3 Brings you a OL. All three he could hit on. Now look at the players that he can get 5- 7/// if he doesn't trade and backs off WR early. #272 Lynn Bowden Jr. #215 John HighTower #456 quez Watkins.#154 Chase Claypool ND #309Thomas.S/WR Mia John Ronyan Ot These guys are possible. Now look at the OL in 3rd Jonah Jackson G Ohio Cleveland, Lameux and 5th. OL. Sean Pollard OL 6'5 Clemson @171 Jared Hilbers WA @187. Pretty good haul if he doesn't fall in love with reaches. The wrs class may be loaded.////// but 90% need time and can't run the route tree. The depth of this draft, is better then non drafted FAs.

I know how you feel about the run game. Also, Reaching for a TE is a bad idea. There are good RBs late too. I just know we need a guy for the slot. The biggest question is Martinez and Bulaga.
