I've appreciated all the special guest draft coverage you've provided these past few weeks, but this Q&A was my favorite. I adore the spirit and knowledge J. Randolph provides. This interview really helped me get excited for the coming weekend and I'm sincerely grateful for that. With all of the roster changes that have occurred and what we expect to occur, this feels like a uniquely important draft. Likely not the difference between "Super bowl or bust", but swaying the balance between another division title or again falling a game behind those pesky Lions.

Thanks for doing this. I like the philosophy expressed and the smarts expressed. I heard a lot of interesting stuff (but I still don’t know spit about drafting players) . You do it so we don’t have to!

I listened to the discussion on the internet and was impressed with the extensive knowledge Joseph has on the current draft class. He sure seems to be a cordial and likeable fellow with an awful lot of football information at his fingertips.

Joseph knows his players and the game. Intelligence about the draft itself is easily
explained by him in context to the player in question and team needs. Good session.

Big B knows his stuff! Jake Witt from Northern Michigan University is a super sleeper in this draft and would be worth a dart in the 7th round! That is if he lasts that long..

I just don't have patience to sit and listen to podcast.
I view pre drafts as "Silly Season" because everyone has their opinion and for most of them it's fun discussing the draft and that's cool if you're into that.

I skip all the pre draft hype of...who we should take, who we shouldn't, if we should trade up, if we should trade down, whose stock went up at the combine (fools gold) and outsmarted the rest of the GM's.

I wait until teams make their actual picks, before i start paying any real attention, because lets be real. All the pre draft wants, or predictions, rarely (if ever) come to fruition.
When the picks are made, i then check out what the scouts have said, which i find to be about 80-90% reliable.
I also don't watch players highlight video's on youtube because lets face it, they all look good right?
In other words, i like dealing with what really happened in the actual draft, vs. all the if, come, maybe scenario's in pre draft silly season dreamland.

Just thinking the same. I rarely ever dive into the what if, analysis, expert opinions. None of it's concrete. And even then we won't really know until we see them playing on an NFL field. Still exciting and fun to look forward to this week, finally!

Yea Tundra,
I'm a realist by nature. I think the silly season is good fodder for the idealist and dreamers as they seem to enjoy pre-draft which is cool for them.

I like checking out the picks after they are made.
This draft, all i'm looking for is a 1st or 2nd round pick that is talented enough to be a starter.

The other thing i find amusing is post draft grades, before any of these players step on a field and play their first game.

Overall after the 2018 draft, Gute got A and B grades across the board.

Walterfootball.com: A.

Rob Rang of NFL Draft Scout: A. "This class probably won't get much national buzz but I'm confident that years from now it will prove to be one of this year's best."

Fast forward to 2022.....
Only one player from that 2018 draft is wearing green and gold.

Post draft grades = Media Fodder.
About as accurate as using a psychic.
