In addition to a new multi-million dollar sound system and menu offering, another feature added to the Packers gameday experience this year is the Packers Halftime Report. "The Packers Halftime Report will feature about three to four minutes of first-half highlights, as well as keys to watch for in the second half," writes Alex Morrell of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. The Packers said they were responding to research that says the fans want to see more highlights.

There were plenty of positives coming out of the Packers' seas0n-opening victory against the New Orleans Saints. But Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel examines two of the negatives on defense and special teams. "It seemed a bit unsettling when both of those units got off on the wrong foot Thursday night in the 42-34 nail-biting victory over the New Orleans Saints," writes Silverstein. "Yes, the Packers won the game, but it could have been a lot easier if the Saints hadn't laid 477 yards of offense and 175 of returns on the Packers." Giving up a ton of return yards to Darren Sproles wasn't what the Packers had in mind.

Defensive lineman Jarius Wynn's solid game in Week 1 of the season is featured in an article by Pete Dougherty of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. "Wynn doesn’t have (Mike) Neal’s pass-rush talents, but the third-year pro made several important plays in his approximately 30 snaps, playing mostly as an inside rusher in the Packers’ nickel defense," writes Dougherty. Also noted in the article was that Neal had his knee flare up on him in practice this past week, a not so encouraging sign for the oft-injured defensive lineman.

Piggybacking on a feature on running back James Starks in the previous day's edition of the Journal Sentinel, reporter Tyler Dunne includes some extra quotes from people that knew Starks in his hometown of Niagara Falls, N.Y. "If he wouldn’t have been a football player, he would have been something," said Don Bass, Starks' high school football coach. "I don’t think the streets would have ever gotten to him. He just wasn’t that kid. That just wasn’t in him. If he didn’t make it to the NFL, he would have made it somewhere else.” Starks has had a sizable impact on his hometown, a poverty-stricken area of New York.
