Packers Calendar: NFLPA Collegiate Bowl Practices Televised

Packers scouts will be in attendance at the practices of this college football all-star game on Wednesday, televised on ESPNU.

The college all-star game circuit is in full force this week with Green Bay Packers scouts in attendance at both the East-West Shrine Game in St. Petersburg, Fla. and the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in Carson, Cal.

Practices for these games are an opportunity for scouts to see prospects up-close in the same environment, see how they interact with coaches and teammates, and watch them display their skills through drills.

General manager Ted Thompson is in Florida checking out the talent at the Shrine Game, but other members of his staff will be on the West Coast at the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, which has its practices televised both Wednesday and Thursday.

Wednesday's practice sessions will air live on ESPNU with the American team taking the field from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. CT and then the National team getting their turn from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. CT.

Former NFL coaches Denny Green and Dick Vermeil lead the American and National squads respectively, and fans will get an opportunity to see what the scouts see through these televised practices.

Practices will continue to take place for the Shrine Game as well, but they are not televised.

I wish I would have known this yesterday, I would have set my DVR to record it.
