Green Bay Packers players past and present will convene at North Hills Country Club in Menomonee Falls, Wis. on Friday for the 42nd annual Vince Lombardi Golf Classic.

Money raised goes to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation, which over the years has funded over $15 million going to cancer research.

Kicker Mason Crosby is a co-chair of the event and has been instrumental in the events rise from obscurity in recent years.

"The ... event at North Hills has sold out - golfers pay $995 each to play with a celeb - for the first time in 15 years," writes Gary D'Amato of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Over 40 sporting celebrities are scheduled to attend the event, from stars of yesterday like Bart Starr and Jerry Kramer to current players such as Ryan Pickett, James Starks and Marshall Newhouse.

The golf tournament is a two-day event, and is open to spectators on Saturday but not on Friday.

Also taking place on Friday evening is the Vince Lombardi Golf Gala at the InterContinental Hotel in Milwaukee, which includes celebrity pairings, live and silent auctions, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and sit-down dinner.

The gala is not open to the public.
