Watching transplants this morning.

Love your take on the play calling. The placement of players like Lacy has been horrible. Lacy has proved that he is better running downhill lined up behind the QB. That is why the Pistol has been a great formation for him. But what is even better for him is the Pistol with a FB. To me that is the formation they should be using as their 'base' offense. They have done a better job the last 2 games putting him in the pistol and look at how much better he has been.

The whole Janis thing. I have been high on Janis. I have been wanting them to use him. The reason why is because he is a playmaker. I get that he is raw and he isn't going to be able to play 30 snaps a game. But why can't they get him the ball 1-2 plays in the game?. Whether that's throwing the ball 40+ yards down field, or running a jet sweep/reverse with him. Will that change the offense completely? No, but in an offense that has been searching for playmakers, they have one that they are not taking advantage of.

I'm sorry to Vic Ketchman the playcalling/scheming whatever you want to call it has been terrible. Yes they have ran plays that have been good. And a lot of plays were not executed. But when you look at it as a whole, can we sit here and say that their play calling/game planning has put their players in their very best position to succeed? The answer to that is no.
They basically run the same formation over and over again. They don't stick with what works enough, and when something isn't working they don't do enough to change what they are doing. They are not putting their players in the best position to succeed. They do not do enough to get struggling WR's open. A few games ago they ran a beautiful play to Cobb and got him open. Cobb drops the ball, but the play call was perfect. Have we seen that play call since?

The players have to play better, but the coaches have to do a better job of putting their players in better positions to succeed.

Dang. A long conversation hoping for the health and possible ascension of two receivers who have 0 career TD's between them. That's where we are.
