NBC Pregame Show to Air on Five Channels Opposite Presidential Speech

NBC Pregame Show to Air on Five Channels Opposite Presidential Speech

Seemingly in response to my previous post about President Obama's Job Speech to a joint session of Congress conflicting with coverage of NBC's pregame coverage of Thursday's NFL Kickoff game between the Packers and the Saints, NBC has announced its pregame will air on five other stations.

Michael David Smith of writes, "VERSUS, USA, Syfy, G4 and NFL Network will all begin coverage of the 90-minute NFL Kickoff 2011 Presented by EA Sports at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday. NBC will show Obama’s speech at 7 and then join NFL Kickoff 2011 in progress when the speech is over. The game starts at 8:30, and the White House says Obama’s speech will end well before kickoff."

If you still have troubles viewing the pregame coverage, you're just not trying. Either pony up for basic cable or go to a bar!

Who doesn't turn to the Syfy channel for all their pregame NFL needs.

Seriously, wha?

It's likely only being done due to the Presidential conflict, not something that's going to continue.

I'm curious sir, as a person who has "Space Ghost" as his Gravatar, how do you feel about sports events on Scyfy Channel? ;-)

Brian Carriveau's picture

There should be more sports on Syfy and more sci-fi on sports channels.

Gotta love that the Pres. gets one channel and they give 5 to the NFL. No question as to where their priorities lie. HA.

I just upgraded my cable package as they added NFL network to the top tier. No way I am watching the President give another campaighn speech about a 'plan' he should have put together a year+ ago.

Could someone tell me if there is a way to watch the pregame on the internet? We have no cable and want to see it tonight!

Thanks for the assist. I hope it works!
