The beginning sounds like a public service announcement from the 1950s.

Hey Aaron! We share a couple crushes! My VERY FIRST CRUSH of this draft was (and is) Kenneth Gainwell; I absolutely love his game. Unfortunately, I think he'll be gone by pick 93, and 29 and 61 are too rich for me. I also like Asante Samuel, even in the first round, and I'd be fine with Gute taking him there. I like him more than the ballyhooed Greg Newsome. I'm also a fan of Osa Odighizuwa.
The rest of my crushes this year include these guys: C Creed Humphrey, LB JOKoramoah, S Trevon Moehrig, S/CB Jevon Holland, OL Alijah Vera-Tucker, OT Liam Eichenberg, OL Quinn Meinerz (of course), DT Bobby Brown, RB Trey Sermon, RB Torrance Marable, OT Robert Hainsey, DL Jay Tufele, and actually a bunch of other guys this year. I probably have more crushes this year than any other, though I don't know why.

Excellent wish list, although I think the Packers can find a better, taller CB option. But I have zero doubts about OO.

NFL.com has most of these guys rated for ST or backups.

I do like Odighizowa in spite of his smaller size for the DL. He seems very smart and was productive at UCLA. Plus he was a 3 time state HS wrestling champ...very strong and athletic.

Actually, seems like a smaller, poor man's version of Kenny Clark, a fellow Bruin and HS wrestler.

Most of these players will be mid rounders. And no way would I take a RB or draft another 4-3 tweener DE and make him play OLB/edge.

Browning /LB has played inside and out, but analysts say he is not very instinctive and is underwhelming. He does have good size. I'd rather have the smaller heat seeking missile J.O. K. From Notre Dame to man the ILB spot.

"NFL.com has most of these guys rated for ST or backups."

Yeah, I don't really care lol. Draft folks weren't high on Dillon or Deguara last year. Media rankings/lists mean less than nothing.

I mention draft analysts because they know more about prospects than I do. As do you, Aaron, for that matter.

And I hope Gutey knows a lot more than all of us!

No Ts'. Osa and Rashad are a bit too light and similar to what we have already. I would prefer a stouter get off the blks player like Tufele, McNeil, or Shelvin. I have seen them all possibly available in the 3rd round by some previewers. I think we need a versatile return man and Haydel is my choice because he is a decent WR and will be available in later rounds. Avery Williams would also be an interesting late round choice..

You're right. They won't draft any of them, and shouldn't. The first pick has to be Barmore. The second should be a trade up for Terrace Marshall / Oweh. The third should be a guy who opted out last year. Little/ Thomas. Will Gute draft any of these 5. No- He's going for Newsome, Holland, and Josh Myers.

There is not much chance that Barmore is on the board at 29 and exactly zero chance Oweh is there at 61. I would give the odds of Marshall being available at 61 about 5%

Yep. Trade up. The 4ths should do it. 1in Each rd. if necessary. Just not for a cb. Get cb later.

I LOVE Gainwell as an upgrade to the Ervin role if they don't go Rondale Moore.

Gainwell is a guy that falls outside the height boundaries the Packers have followed with RBs. Of course, RB is one of the positions where they have tended to ignore boundaries. So who knows if his height disqualifies him.

Bill Huber is running a series of articles for si dot com that lists out the guys that don't fit the mold at each position. He's through the offensive positions. I presume he'll finish up with defense as he ride into Thursday. It's a good read if you believe that the Packers do follow "norms" at positions.

I think I mentioned it before that my #1 draft crush is Zaven Collins. I've been wanting an ILB difference maker for years and Zaven is the combo of brains and brawn who could be that man.

I really can't believe I have not 1, but 2 Center crushes. Creed Humphrey & Quinn Meinerz. I get not drafting a C high, but man if we can replace Linsley with another potential All-Pro C count me in.

Demetric Felton or Rondale Moore as a potential gadget guy. We need that Jet Sweep guy who can also return kicks and punts.

Finally Trevon Moehrig. A guy who can play both outside CB and inside Nickel or Safety and a good tackler. I just really want some more leaders in the middle who are considered football smart.

I am with you stud middle linebacker is needed a tackling machine that has to be planned to play against, a difference maker. Greedy me wants a WR that plays the slot and catches everything AR throws him. Easy right!

My Five Draft Crushes

1...a good tackler with speed who is smart and can cover. Hoping for Newsome
2...a plug and play OT. Lots of choices. I like Eichenberg late in the second round.
3......A DT who can help clog up the A gaps. I like several, but Shelvin would be my choice.

4 and 5.....two guys on the last day who can make the 53 man roster as backups.

1) slotWR D'Wayne Eskridge (only 7LP I ever recall vouching for...tape stands out the most)
2) slotWR Elijah Moore...crisp routes...reminds me a lot of one Antonio Brown
3) ILB Nick Bolton...Joe Barry said "we will tackle" if the case, this is his guy...best tackler & instincts
4) FS Andre Cisco...tremendous upside if disciplined...insane quickness
5) OC/OG Quinn Meinerz TJ Watt redemption pick

Current value "Crush" for fast is Marquez Stevenson. Kick off returner and speed. I heard his 40 time was not elite, but he sure looks elite running away from corners. I don't trust 40 times. I think Stevenson is like Reagor last year who went high despite his slower 40 time at the combine, compared to his pro-day. I think they pick someone big in the first (Cosmi, Baramore, or Z. Collins).

A lot of talent at the slot/ gadget/ kick returner: Toney, D'Wayne Eskridge, E. Moore, R. Moore, Marquez Stevenson. Could see picking any of these guys in an early trade up in the second after we take Z. Collins for our new DC. I lov.e to see dominant ILBs stuff runs and pick passes. Collins big and fast. Playmakers first, then the big guys(?)
