Mason Crosby Named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month

In yet another sign of how far Mason Crosby has come since last season's struggles, the Packers kicker was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for October, according to Randall Liu, the NFL's Director of NFC Communications.

Crosby converted on 13 of 15 field goals over the past four games and a perfect 11 of 11 on PAT attempts for 50 total points.

On the season, Crosby has a field goal percentage of 89.5.

He also started to take back some of the duties on kickoffs as well, including three touchbacks.

I still can't believe how different the ball looks off his foot from last year to this year. Good job so far #2, keep it up!

Yeah, it the trajectory of his FG's look completely different from the past few years. End-over-end and mostly straight. Just how I like 'em. Not the knucklers he had been hitting.

Now this is 100% conjecture, but I wonder if he's shortened-up and simplified his FG swing. Maybe sacrificed distance for consistency and accuracy. If that's the case I'll gladly take that trade-off.

Last year I didn't know what to expect. This year I expect he'll make or be close on everything inside of 50.

Yes, congratulation to you Mason on one hell of a turnaround. You talk about coming back from adversity? Good Lord, this guy wrote the book on it.

I personally would not have stuck with him as long as MM did but I guess there's just nothing better out there. Glad you turned it all around. I am almost and I mean almost at the point where I am not thinking about his last year's struggles anymore. Darn close.

I believe Mason got some instruction on how to kick by a former NFL kicker. Can't remember his name offhand but whatever he did with him it helped him big time. He's back to his old form.
