Guy's I enjoy your podcast but it does seem you want things both ways.

1st half of the convo is about how this scheme, as it plays into the game formula, works. The defense is actually doing fine compared to the rest of the league with the bottom line being they win games doing it this way, why get overly crazy like some fans do.

Then the weaknesses are discussed and I think you guys are dead on.

1) Tackling
2) ILB play
3) Nickel and Dime DB play

Next thing you know were talking about Blitzing more / being more aggressive. Why in the world would we want them to change anything if its working? Blitzing and exposing the weakness of the D even more.? I'm not saying don't mix in Blitzes, they do. I think that's where fans get upset as well as when you blitz or bring DB's what are you forced to do? Drop a front 4 or 5 guy into protection. Preston, Gary, Z even Keke. I don't think fans understand how much that actually happens. Check the snap counts.

The packers weakness is their Defense, there is little doubt. IMO you nailed the specifics of that weakness. Hopefully something can be done in the offseason to improve. But seeing we have good coverage Corners on the outside and the ability to bring pressure with just 4 guys lets keep playing to those strengths. If a team exposes it to a point that the game result is in serious risk, then make adjustments. As we say in the Boxing game, when all else fails sometimes you have to just bite down on that mouth piece and go.
