Their take on the defense is much more positive than mine. I hope they're right. I thought the Vikings could have easily scored a couple more TDs in the second half if they wanted to, and as for the Bears, they're just not very good. We'll see how the Packer defense responds when a good team like Tampa Bay tries to run the ball down their throats all day. I hope they are up to the challenge.

I loved Andy's comparison of an O-line to a pitching rotation in terms of the ripple effect that the top two guys have on the other three.

So, you believe Vikings were merciful to Packers?

For sure, I do not share your opinion.

Merciful? Of course not. They played smart with the lead and never let the Packers get back into the game.

I agree that patience is in order with Myers. He's only played 492 snaps so far in the NFL. He has size and mobility. But the unmentioned elephant in the room is that every draftnik was swooning when Creed Humphrey was on the board when the Packers picked, including those who read CHTV's draft guide. Gute chose Myers over Humphrey, who started every game and played at an elite level despite being a rookie, and is still playing at a high level. It isn't Myers' fault he was selected 62nd instead of 63rd, or 85th for that matter. Myers has plenty of time to justify the pick. That said, given AR's probable window, being good right away had some urgency and extra value.

The DL has more depth. Unfortunately, so far no second year jump from Slaton. That could still happen. Not so sure that Reed is better than Lowry, but as you guys noted, easier to keep them fresh at least. PFF liked Lowry versus the Bears, Reed not so much, and they hated Slaton again. I've pretty much lost all faith in their grades. As for Wyatt, folks should remember that Clark played just 9 snaps in his first NFL game, though he went on to play 32% of possible snaps for the season. DL more often than not need a year to acclimate to the NFL, and so far Wyatt has not flashed.

The NFL is a passing league. NTs are getting smaller. And NTs know that getting pressures and sacks means bigger money. I assumed that Slaton would be or could become good against the run and double teams, but that has not really been his forte. He is quicker than expected and can be disruptive. He has some things to build on.

This is very founded and logical opinion I agree completely. When you look at Kenny Clark, he is not classic NT. He might be stronger than otherson the DL and that may be reason why people believe he is NT, He is not. He is excellent 3 or 5 t DLineman, who can play NT.

Wyatt did not play NT in Gorgia D. Only true NT is Ford.

Last night Vikes game shows exactly what happens when your wide open receivers drop passes that would have put points on the board.
When the defense plays tight mad coverage to prevent talented receivers from running wild.
When constant pressure - not a once a game Gary, but constant pressure can cause the QB to toss picks - three of them
When the QB has the ability to run and avoid the rush and not stand back and get floored
When a kickoff special teams can smother the receiver at the point of catch
Ya you saw what good football is and what bad football is last night and the bad reflected that Packers play.
