Hayward was available at pick 59. And TT had DL help available at 90 (Brandon Thompson, Josh Chapman, Malik Jackson et al) while still keeping picks 123 and 163.

I'm not doing this for hindsight purposes but to remind myself et al about letting the board come to TT...those that don't have patience become patients.

Worthy is a much better prospect than any of those Dlineman. Many had Thompson in the second, but obviously all the draftniks had him overvalued since he slipped all the way to the third. I'd rather have two impact players, than four Brad Jones type players later on. Now all three players we picked so far have a chance to start and get us back to the superbowl as opposed to hoping some fifth rounder develops in two years.

I love what TT has done. And we still have a full draft worth of picks (7).

If anyone could have predicted you're scenario, they'd be the highest paid GM in the league

I was on a draft chat last night and noticed the impatience of fans: "What will it take to move up?", "Why doesn't TT move up?", "When do you see TT moving up?", "Do you think he'll move up for (fill in the blank)?" After TT moved up an unprecedented 2nd time in round two it culmunated w/, "Do you think he'll move back up into round 3?"
GM's in the past have admitted they can get caught up in the frenzy. I love what Bill Walsh once said, (paraphrasing) "We just have to find our players." Patience is a virtue.
I was pointing out what could happen to those who wait. I think TT does a great job in drafting. AND even though he still has 7 picks left, I want him to have 9. And yes, Greed is not a virtue.

Full disclosure, Walsh was saying what he did in the context of a weak draft class but the essence also fits in this context.

There's 2,000 players in this draft. TT just needs to find 12, now 10.

And you having those players rated the same or better than who we have means...???

Some people...

What I'm saying is I have faith in Ted to find good players and the more bites he has at the apple the more he likes it (his words). Knowing he's found Sitton, Newhouse, Kampman, and Lang in rounds 4 and 5 validates his abilities.
I'd love to see who he would have drafted w/ picks 123 and 163. I'm not saying never trade up but be judicious.
