As you may or may not recall, Packers rookie running back Johnathan Franklin stated shortly after being drafted by the Packers that he already had a post-NFL career goal: To be the mayor of Green Bay.

Love it. Great sense of humor. I have this gutt feeling that this kid is going to turn heads. When I read his bio I thought I saw possibly greatness in this guy. I could be dead right!

Man, this guy is quickly becoming one of my favourite players and he hasn't played a snap yet. Just seems genuine and the type of person to stick in green bay for years to come. Hope all this translates to the field?

We'll see how he plays in the preseason, but I like that I don't have any concerns about him keeping his nose clean. Class acts are always appreciated.

Can we at least wait til training camp/when the pads come on to annoint this guy the second coming of Paul Hornung? The unfounded fawning makes me queasy.

I don't know about comparing him to Hornung, but the Franklin lovefest has been a little over the top IMO.

I love the fact McCarthy wants to commit to the running game!
Franklin will push Lacy just by character.

seems like a good guy/
i still disagree with the pick.
i think they already have a player just like him in Harris.
they would have been fine with Lacy/Harris/Green or Starks.
would have rather they used the pick on Quinton Patton (with Jones leaving after this season).
