It\'s Early, but...

...can we now stop worrying about Rodgers?

An off-the-top-of-my-head list of Aaron Rodgers' teammates miscues tonight:

  • Jason Spitz forgets the snap count (or the entire offensive line does - take your pick)
  • Brandon Jackson is completely inept on a very simple blitz pickup
  • Donald Driver drops a perfect pass
  • Ditto Chris Francies
  • Ditto James Jones (though Jones gets a reprieve for later taking a monster hit and continuing on to the end zone)
  • Brandon Jackson sets up a 'Come On In' sign in the backfield again

You get the point.

Rodgers looked impressive. Really impressed by his arm strength.

Although BJax needs to improve his blitz pickup, he looks much improved as runner.

James Jones is a MONSTER. Dude has some serious guns and just absorbs hits.

Chris Francies is terrible. Time to replace his spot on the practice squad with Taj Smith or Brett Swain.

Jackson looked far stronger, though still not super explosive. I need to watch the game again and only follow the offensive line play, but on a couple of run plays I saw Barbre totally kill his man. Good stuff.

Anyone else notice that as soon as all of the likely d-line rotation guys went out the Bengals started running on us at will? That was a little scary. Jason Hunter looked like he's ready for a third-down role this season though.

Could not agree more about Francies. Couldn't believe he was in when they went 'Big 5'. And you'll like what you see from Barbre when you watch it again. Sitton, however, was a real disappointment, esp after his press clippings this past week.

Is Spitton 71? If he is, he got abused on more than a few plays.

Stop worrying? I don't think "well, he didn't get hurt" will get old til about week 6 or 7.

Other than that, I just hope Rodgers' apologists in and out of The Media will cease and desist.

Vandermause, McGinn, Silverstein, Jenkins, et. al., need to get off the Aaron bandwagon and get on the Packers train.

Choo choo! Move to the back of the car, please.

Um, He Who Is Occasionally Correct, I think you'll notice over the course of the last month I have been pretty consistent in writing about the TEAM, of which Rodgers is a member. My point above was simply that ample pixels have been used and tons of hot air spouted on air about how Rodgers would handle the situation. If Monday night is any indication, he'll handle it just fine. His teammates, however, are another story...

Aaron - I am truly impressed at your ability to respond to a post that was utterly incomprehensible. Bravo, sir.
