Green Bay Packers 2016 Schedule Released

The Green and Gold open with two road games for the first time since 1924.

Here it is.

Week 1: At Jacksonville Jaguars (FOX)

Week 2: At Minnesota Vikings (NBC)

Week 3: vs Detroit Lions (FOX)

Week 4: Bye

Week 5: vs New York Giants (NBC)

Week 6: vs Dallas Cowboys (FOX)

Week 7: vs Chicago Bears (CBS/NFLN)

Week 8: At Atlanta Falcons (FOX)

Week 9: vs Indianapolis Colts (CBS)

Week 10: at Tennessee Titans (FOX)

Week 11: at Washington Redskins (NBC)

Week 12: at Philadelphia Eagles (ESPN)

Week 13: vs Houston Texans (FOX)

Week 14: vs Seattle Seahawks (FOX)

Week 15: at Chicago Bears (FOX)

Week 16: vs Minnesota Vikings (FOX) (Christmas Eve)

Week 17: at Detroit Lions (FOX)

Hate the early bye.

Lots of prime time, which isn't a surprise.

First time the Packers have opened up with two away games since 1924. So it's hard to complain about it.

Both a three game home stretch and a three game road trip.

Last year, the Bears ruined Thanksgiving. Here's hoping the Vikings don't ruin Christmas this year.

We already knew the Packers had the "easiest" strength of schedule, which doesn't really mean a whole lot. Now we know when they play.

Go Pack Go.

Other than the horrible early bye, I'm pumped.

I hate the early bye week but not much we can do about that. 4 consecutive home games with the bye after the 1st home game, how does that happen? I don't like the 3 straight road games either. Good news is that we have a lot of prime time. If the Packers stay healthy they can have a great season against this schedule. I think our toughest game will be against Seattle and it's a home game. I won't make any predictions on our record until I see how we make it through the pre-season games. If we're healthy we have a good shot at the #1 or #2 seed. Not that has helped us in the past but it's still better than going on the road in the playoffs. Go Pack Go! Thanks, Since '61

"Last year, the Bears ruined Thanksgiving. Here's hoping the Vikings don't ruin Christmas this year."

I took a shot of tequila out of my buddies naval after losing a bet over a game of pool in the aftermath of that godforsaken game. And then I promptly threw up on the porch.

True story.

This is not going to be an easy schedule at all....Jax was a much improved team by the end of the year and is just getting better. Romo will likely not be injured by the time we play the Cowboys. Washington and Houston and Minnesota X2 are going to all be tough wins if their QBs play like the showed they can. Seattle is always a possible loss. The Bears X2 are always tough and should be much improved this year. In my opinion we only have 5 easier games, Giants, Colts, Eagles, and Detroit X2. Plus we always seem to loss one of the easiest games on our schedule.

You're smokin dude. Schedule is about as easy as we have had for 8-10years. Stop fretting and have some faith.

I'm going to agree with @olwig420 here with respect to Jacksonville. Their offense is good (A. Robinson, A. Hurns, J. Thomas, Bortles, Yeldon, Ivory). They've added some defensive FAs and will probably go heavy D in the draft. Hopefully their revamped D won't be ready opening day.

It is good that we play them early, before they will sattle down team and make that team well-coordinated... Sucks noon game at that temperature and humidity...

Romo will be injured by half time, and the skins "performance" was due more to whom they played rather than how well they played.

For the rest of it I pretty much agree with you.

This schedule is goofy as fuck. 4 straight home games around a Bye? 3 straight on the road, and 4 out of 5? It's not particularly difficult, but that H/A distribution is so goddamn weird.

Second straight year they start 4 out of 6 at home.

Don't really like the 2 road games to start, early bye, and the 3 road games in a row late in the season.

Not one noon start (and two night games) for the Milwaukee season ticket holders. Sorry, but that just doesn't make sense. There will be lots of away team jerseys at Lambeau as a result.

Odd that the Packers choose which weeks the Milwaukee season ticket holders get before the schedule is announced. or do you guys get the same weeks of the season every year? either way, i'm not sure the packers get consulted on when or not they get night games. hopefully just more tickets for non-sth packer fans to buy.

Just found my answer:
A preset formula assigns the Gold Package (former Milwaukee ticket holders) the preseason "Shrine" game, and games 2 and 5 of the regular season home schedule. The Green Package (original Lambeau Field ticket holders) receives the preseason "Bishop's Charities" game and games 1,3,4,6,7 & 8 of the regular season home schedule. The NFL determines the date, time and opponent of the games in the spring of each year.

Who knows if the Packers have any say in their schedule...I kinda doubt it.

There will be a lot of away jerseys at Lambeau until our front office either changes ticket resale rules or our team sucks. The first will never happen and the second I do not wish for anything.

For fans who are unable to go to games for whatever reason I suggest that they donate their tickets to a Veterans organization or local PBA or fireman's organization.
Go to your local VFW hall or go online to find a veterans organization or the same for the police or firemen. Let them know that you want to donate the tickets to a wounded vet and their family or to the family of a veteran, police officer or firemen who was lost in the line of duty. In this way your tickets can go to someone who probably would never have a chance to get to a game and it is way of thanking them for their service. The cost of tickets would be tax deductible as well. It's a small way to make a difference and to thank the families for their sacrifice. You may also be able to ensure that your tickets go to Packers fans. Thanks, Since '61

Or...CheeseheadTV should start an area where season ticket holders can post when they have tickets for sale to strictly Packer fans for face value. There's plenty of season ticket holders that sell their tickets to brokers or on the secondary market to make money...when there is definitely no lack of packer fans out there...just not as many packer fans willing to pay premium prices...which is why you start to see more away fans spend the big money to experience Lambeau.

I LOVE the fact that we get to go into the Vikings crappy new stadium and christen it via dumping an easy 2+TD win on their front porch. Plus, it has the added bonus of shutting the purple stupids up early. We are going to wreck that team that had no business in the playoffs last year - and whom will be even worse on offense with AP getting older and Teddy proving once and for all he is not the answer.

PS: Superbowl babeee!!! ;)

If we don't win the Super Bowl this year, it will be a failure. MM's shit coaching has blown enough opportunities the last few years. Hopefully he'll pull his head out of his ass and make some decisions that push this team from a perennial playoff team to a SB champion. Hell, I"ll take just being in the big game.

And yeah, I'm still salty about the Seahawks NFC championship game.

I am not excited about the schedule. Opening in Jacksonville it will be hot and humid. Yes we do have 5 primetime games but the more interesting games are all on the road, We open and close the season on the road. The week 4 bye cmon we just had a week 4 bye 2 years ago rotate those things,

Well, better to play Jacksonville early when the whole continent is hot and everyone's tongue is hanging out. What if it was October, and the pack was cold conditioned...then went into the warm environs. and the difference in heat tolerance would be huge b/w the 2 teams.

Just glancing at the schedule... we have most of the tough teams at home..... hate the bye week part of the schedule....Minnesota on Christmas Eve... what a way to go to the man cave and enjoy the family get together garbed in their Packer gear rooting for the Green and Gold and having Santa bring us a ViQueen defeat!

You really have very little faith in this roster don't you?

I personally see only 1 or 2 losses.

I'll have a better grasp on the roster after the draft.

As to my faith, or lack thereof, its mostly related to my confidence in Mike McCarthy.

Whenever the schedule comes out....I look and hope that Dallas has to come to lambeau in December.

After that disappointment that schedulers have spared that pampered, sorry team again another year....I don't care much about the other schedule details.

I just like to see Dallas whimper on frozen tundra one time..and that would be a good season:)
