An asterisk means that the participant failed to submit any picks for a couple of weeks and his or her score was adjusted to reflect that. In all cases adjusted scores were rounded down, in part due to fairness issues (several times the missed week came in a week that most participants fared badly) and in part due to a despotic display of power by the author as a penalty for making me do a bunch of math.
ESPN Pick Em does not support the playoff games, so the CHTV Pick Em articles are over. I acknowledge that my son, Latvian Cilveks finished ahead of me, in sixth place while I finished tenth. He has graciously consented to continue to make picks during the playoffs to give me a chance to recover, unofficially. Readers are free to provide their picks in the comment section. There are eleven more games.
On Saturday, Buffalo plays at Houston and Tennessee plays at New England. On Sunday, Minnesota plays at New Orleans while Seattle plays at Philadelphia. I am taking Buffalo, New England, New Orleans and Seattle. My son is taking Houston, New England, New Orleans and Philadelphia.
Once again, congratulations to Big Mel 75!

I was robbed, I say!
In all seriousness, TGR, thanks for putting this together. If you care to do so next year, CBS does a Confidence Pick 'Em league. Your least confident pick you'd rate as a "1" and most as a "16" (or however many games there are that week. If you get the "1" wrong, no big deal, but upsets would lose you big points.
They take more thought. It's lots of fun! I prefer them to traditional pick ems personally.

I really like survivor pools, personally.
For those unfamiliar, you pick the winner of only one game each week. If you're correct, you move on to the next week. If you're wrong, you're done. Once you pick a team, you can't use them again (for example: if you pick the Packers week 1, you can't pick them again the rest of the year).

Yeah!! It was a blast.. I kept bragging at work how I was doing and they kept saying how much you win if you win? I kept telling them bragging rights... :) Thank you for putting this together!! Was a lot of fun!!

I think I should give up picking games....used to be good even won 2nd place in ESPN bowl picks...but now 33rd place (did miss some weeks) I have to recalibrate my thoughts.

I'm realy surprised I get 3rd pisition. Also I agree you have to adjust score of those who missed some week or weeks, or some picks. I missed one whole week, I believe and few Thursday games. But I did not think I'm thatnhigh. I suppose I got some lucky upset scores...
TGR, it was fun and thank you for the idea and for following scores.

ESPN listed you with 159 correct picks. You completely missed week 13. You got .665272% of picks correct, which when multiplied is 10.64. I rounded down as a penalty, so I added 10 and not 11 to you 159 nominal score to get 169 as your final score. I didn't adjust for missing one game, such as a Thursday game.
Congratulations on a nice job.

We could do a trial run on these alternatives. Confidence with 4 being most confident:
4: NO
3: NE
2: BUF
1: SEA.
Survivor Pool: Hmm, I think there is some strategy that should be used. I'll take:
NE.
I think NE will win, but I probably won't take them in the divisional round.

LOL. Yeah, in the Survivor Pool Game I'd be dead as a door nail. And I'd be in serious trouble after getting 1 point out of the 10 possible points for the Wild Card weekend. I should stick to straight up.
That said, ESPN has a confidence game format. It would be easy enough to run a straight up and a separate confidence pool. NFL.com had a survivor pool league. CBSsports runs all three, but I've never used them. I didn't love ESPN's format or layout, but it worked well.
Given my "One and Done" performance above, Dobber, I would be inclined to have a double elimination, but that can be discussed next August, and we'd have to find out what Jersey Al thinks about multiple formats, as well.

As you call for play off prediction, I predict for
AFCCG Chiefs at Ravens
NFCCG Vikings at Packers
Put your prediction!

(4) Baltimore
(3) SF
(2) KC
(1) GB
Survivor: KC (saving Ravens and SF).
So, just one difference of opinion: you like MN and I prefer SF.
