Forgive me - but I need to get this off my chest.

Lately, both in the comment section and on Twitter, I've had people telling me what I should and shouldn't be saying/writing/Tweeting.

I've never once told him what to say/write/Tweet.

Not once.

I just occasionally call bullshit on some of the things he says/writes (I don't tweet).

Haha, yeah didn't Packer Lounge have something like this up just a couple of months ago? With less Deadwood, I believe. I think the lesson here is that people are always going to tell you how they think you could be doing your job better, the only way to stop them doing that is to turn off the comments, change your email and set fire to Twitter headquarters.

Why do you hate Ronaldo, Aaron????
The guy overcame 2 career ending injuries to his knees, and still won a WC, and is the all-time WC score leader. 2nd best player I've seen, behind Zidane...

As another example of my "wall of text" below, that was a twitter comment i didn't agree with, but I'm in no position to tell him to "stop" doing that lol, because it's his opinion.

Anyway i didn't really like Ronaldo that much until he came to Real Madrid and really was one player, coupled with Sergio Ramos and maybe Raúl, who really pushed the spirit of competition of the institution for whole year. :)

Okay, but I'm not telling him how to do anything...

I saw the twitter, don't have one and asked him here, because the subject matters to me and want to know his opinion.

That, to me, is a conversation, not a scold...

NO no, i wasn't directing it to you. We both pretty much did the same, cause i don't have a twitter account and posted my opinion on Ronaldo here.

My point was more of a "situation" that could present at any given person over twitter, and how people try to tell you what to do on a space that is yours thanks for said company.

Just realized you were probably meaning Cristiano Ronaldo...

People, let's get this over with:

The World Cup Champion, all time World Cup score leader, the 3x Best player in the world, the one of the greatest players of all time is RONALDO. Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima.

The other one, who hasn't won sh*t, is CRISTIANO RONALDO. Please don't refer to him as Ronaldo... That's offensive. Now I'm telling people what to do.

It's offensive to refer to someone by their name, ummm ok?

-----

RONALDO was a great player for sure, but this is why I hate the bullshit, "he's a winner" meme for sports. It's a lot easier to win World Cups playing for a Brasilian juggernaut than playing for Portugal. In fact, Portugal has a very impressive World Cup run the last time around, spearheaded by Cristiano.

-----

Disclaimer: I'm a Madrid supporter, although I bear no ill will towards RONALDO. He was a fantastic player.

People need to discern the context in which a blog and twitter work. The concepts of the aforementioned, weren't necessary the ONLY media outlet out there for Journalism. Yes they are powerful tools, but the reality is that it's a "Personal" space for any individual over the internet to post whatever they feel.

If you don't start to like what somebody writes in any of these outlets, then don't read it nobody is forcing you to. As an example, I stopped reading Pelissero's twitter because it was related to the Twin Cities activities, i may now randomly check whatever he says. And yes I realize he uses his account for journalism purposes but it would be equally accountable for anybody else that writes his opinion in said media.

"If you don’t start to like what somebody writes in any of these outlets, then don’t read it nobody is forcing you to."

Well put CJ. I always look at the name associated with the post before reading, there are certain Poster's that I will just never read again. For one reason or another, I just skip 'em. I'm sure I have people that do the same with mine. GOOD! Then there are a handful I never pass up.

Read what you want, what freedom! God Bless America (and Guatemala, and Brazil(RS), and AusieVille (Aus), and Germany (Hof))!

I agree with this. if you don't like nagler's blog, you have plenty of choices: leave, start your own blog, fly a kite, etc.

But often times with nagler, the opinions come with a big dose of I-know-more-than-you-do (PERIOD), which can be grating. Then again, that's just blogging 101: have strong opinions, and you'll get a reaction/readers. And nagler has done real well to build a profile, and a blog. The numbers, twitter follows, etc don't lie.

But then again, when you have such strong opinions, be prepared to eat some humble pie on occassion. After having plenty to say about the CM3 pick last year, Nagler comes back this year and let's us know, "I'm on board with whoever Ted takes" and hey, "I'm not a draft guy." That's rich.

And then there's twitter where nagler plays the part of Scotty J to Rodgers' Dirk Diggler. But you know what? If that bothers me, I can choose not to follow him (I don't).

But here's the distinction: I'm not telling nagler *how* to write/act on Twitter, or on this blog, I'm just calling certain things as I see them. Just like he does.

Happy blogging, cocksuckers.

"After having plenty to say about the CM3 pick last year, Nagler comes back this year and let’s us know, “I’m on board with whoever Ted takes” and hey, “I’m not a draft guy.” That’s rich." - well, you are leaving out the part where I said "I was wrong". (Check out my end-of-year grade on Matthews http://cheeseheadtv.com/blog/2009-season-defensive-player-grades)

Perhaps my stance this year was due to lessons learned? Or am I required to think the same way forever and ever for as long as this blog shall live?

Actually, I thought Aaron's CM3 stance was more about draft theory rather than about CM3. Aaron's never been a "draft guy" in terms of prospect analysis, but he has always espoused opinions about the "process." Bit of a difference. He was also hardly the only media member who harbored such feelings about the trade.

I love the off season. The whole off season is pure speculation and opinion, due to lack of real games to debate.

Therefore to back up our statements we have to get really firm with our words.

I love this site, great humor and excellent coverage of the Packers.

Nagler is sometimes wrong, and so are all of us fans.

Note what the famous football guru Gandhi said on the topic:

"I am not concerned with being consistent in what I say, I am concerned with being consistent with the Truth as its revealed to me"

So even Gandhi has yer back Nagler...

And that will help when you blog about why 30 teams took a pass on FS OJ Atogwe despite your impassioned plea for GB to go after him...
