Don Barclay Signs Restricted Tender
The restricted free agent signed his one-year, $1.542 million tender for next season.
By PackerAaron
Fresh off the Instagram press, Don Barclay's wife breaks the news:
Barclay has proven his value to the Packers by filling in for right tackle Bryan Bulaga more than a few times, prior to sitting out the entire 2014 season himself with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
The fourth year player is great depth for the Packers to have as he can fill in at both guard spots as well. His one-year tender is for $1.542 million.

I really am trilled to have him back. He might not be flashy but he can play several spots. Since we lost an O lineman the other day this is great to hear.

I remember reading McGinn's year end Packer analysis and for 3 years in a row, Marco Rivera was rated last compared to the starters, referred to as limited but outstanding toughness and effort. That sums up Barclay. Hopefully if given enough chances he surpriseds like Rivera and down the road makes the Pro Bowl. Even if he doesn't he is a solid insurance policy at guard and tackle going forward, something totally missing last season.

Good comparison, at least to this point in Barclay's career. Let's hope he can continue to make the comparison valid.
Even he stalls out on the Rivera career trajectory path, Barclay will make an excellent 6th OL, assuming he can recover from injury to be at least as good as when he last played.

It was always a possibility that some team would offer him a contract, despite his injury. It is good news that he has signed his tender. Done deal.
