Bills Player Claims Packers Laughed At Buffalo's Expense

Buffalo safety Donte Whitner claims that Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense were laughing at the Bills during this past Sunday's win at Lambeau Field.

According to an interview on the Buffalo Bills official website, safety Donte Whitner says members of the Green Bay Packers offense including quarterback Aaron Rodgers were laughing at the Buffalo Bills during this past Sunday's win at Lambeau Field:

“It happened last week,” said Whitner. ”The Packers were laughing at us. Aaron Rodgers and a lot of those guys were laughing at us toward the end of the football game and that never feels good.”

Whitner went onto say that it wasn't the first time the Bills have been the source of laughter from opposing teams.

He also cited the Patriots as an example following the Bills' 2009 loss on Monday Night Football to New England and also said that "it always happens."

NIce to see you, Herb. I used to always see you dining at the counter @ Ma Fischer's on the east side at about 4:30 am.

I really miss hearing you repeatedly hack loogies into your napkin (which sounds like death on your doorstep, by the way), and watching you completely ignore your constituents when on occasion would politely approach you and attempt to tell you they were happy with the job you were doing.

Signed,
Oppy

No one should be laughing at anyone. If Rodgers did that, I disrespect that. Every opponent in the NFL is worth. Love the Pack, but that is not what Packers do

Agreed in full...I hope this is not true and I hope the Packers were joking with each other and not at the Bills.

Agreed. I would be ashamed of Packer players pulling that kind of stuff.

However, I would think its more likely that Whitner is seeing a relaxed Packers team (they're up ~27-7) having a good time and interpreting it as mean-hearted laughter.

The Bills need to grow some thicker skin and play tough - then things will start to turn around.

This is really messed up, Rodgers should've known better that that. Even if the Bills are the worst in the league they still shouldn't get laughed at. All you guys commenting are wrong, this isn't Packer people.

There is no evidence to back this up. Instead, we do have evidence that this same guy thinks other teams laugh at him web his team looses. It's FAR more likely that this guy thinks everything is about him. Frankly, I don't think Rodgers or any other Packer cared enough to laugh at them. The dude felt self conscious about loosing, and let the somewhat paranoid voice inside his head speak out loud.

Now, if had beat the Bears or the Vikings 34-7, I could see the motivation to last at the opposing team. I wouldn't condone that, but that would at least make sense.

Remember, anyone can accuse anyone of anything. If fact, I noticed you laughing at sone Bills fans on Monday. Shame on you. ; )

Paranoid are we Donte. I highly doubt any of those guys were laughing at you guys just very relaxed and having fun in the 4th quarter of a 34-7 butt whooping.

I doubt they were laughing very much during the 2nd quarter though.

This team is full of fn loving individuals, Donald Driver can't even stop smiling, Jennings is the same way.

So whatever I will deny deny deny

Spot on. I'm sure we can all remember a point in our lives where we thought someone was laughing at us when they really weren't.

Now, I don't know the truth, but given the personalities on our team, I am highly skeptical.

Seems to me the case might have been them feeling good about their win and maybe even just their second half performance.

I don't know if it is true or not, so, this is but speculation. And that Donte may be paranoide is certainly a possibility. That said, I'll join the minority opinion here and state my deeply held wish that it isn't. It's bad form, unprofessional (and specifically, not Packer People, indeed), pure and simple. And for the more superstitiously minded, it offends the Football Gods. Always best to simply let the scoreboard do the mocking. To paraphrase Plato (DE, Athens U), sportsmanship isn't simply right, it always pays in the end.

If true, Agree. What goes round comes round. That first half was no laughing matter.
Hope it proves a false report. Like to think of the Pack as the good guys.

If it's true, I condemn it. Not an attitude worthy of a Green Bay Packer.

But it's really, really hard to understand what they were laughing about from the other side of the field, unless they were doing it on the field, which I didn't see, or unless they were pointing at them, which I doubt.

Seems like more paranoia than anything.

Important lesson in life. If you do not prepare for greatness, you will fail. Aaron Rodgers devoted his time to becoming better, just like everyone else on the squad. All about the preperation.

The NFL is the elite league for the sport and you get paid millions of dollars. Why wouldn't you get laughed at your expense when not everyone is being a team and not focusing on becoming better.

I find it hard to believe that #12 would behave in such a manner. Even so... Play a competitive game, you won't get laughed at.

This is the Pro's, you get paid for this. If your feelers get hurt, go sell insurance.

I was laughing too. However it was not the offense I was laughing at, it was the Claymaker going into beast mode. Maybe AR-12 was laughing at the same thing.

I think you guys are are taking what he said the wrong way. I don't think he's whining about being laughed at. I think he's just frustrated that the team is bad enough to warrant laughter.

You're completely right sir, read the article and he's not complaining about being laughed at, but that his team is just that bad that they are able to get laughed at. His comments seem to put the laughing into a positive perspective.

But even so, seriously, it's professional football. Very, very, VERY few players out there are going to get offended by laughing. I mean I could get kicked off this comment for the talk they have on the LOS, not to mention what they joke with each other about.

Popular tells a funny joke. Makes popular friends laugh. Outsider who wishes he was popular but isn't thinks the while school was laughing at him. Trues to rally everyone and turn them on popular guy. Hmm...those weren't game films he was watching. : )

P.S. I was at the game, and I stayed to watch the field clear off, and saw not the slightest hint of taunting. If anyone else had, people would have been talking about it immediately. The two teams don't even exit near each other.

Unless this happened in the post-game mid-field prayer huddle? Roll eyes. Agree with previous poster, this comment was not intended to be taken litterally, but metaphorically as in "were a laughingstock" or "they made a mockery of us."
