Bills Game: Offense, Defense & Special Teams
Each phase of the game is looked at as the Packers prepare to take on the Buffalo Bills in the regular season home opener.
Making this quick as I'm headed off to the game...
- Offense: Bounce back by Aaron Rodgers–The Bills secondary is really good, led by Jairus Byrd and his 9 interceptions last season. They held opposing quarterbacks to a league low in passer rating of 61.1 last season while having the second-most interceptions with 28 (second to only Green Bay's 30). If Rodgers can have a bounce back game vs. a good secondary, that will be a good sign. If he has another two interception game, that will make some people wonder what's happening to Rodgers.
- Defense: Hawk in coverage–Buffalo does a lot of three step drops and quick passes. With the Packers probably playing more 3-4 base defense, A.J. Hawk should see more playing time on defense. The defense figures to see a lot of underneath routes and Hawk can't be lagging in coverage. If he wants to show he deserves more playing time on defense, he should get several chances to make that statement today.
- Special teams: Coverage units must continue stellar play–Through one game, the Packers special teams are ranked no. 3 overall in the NFL by Football Outsiders. They have to contain a Buffalo return game that's been very effective the past several years. They just need to do what they did last week.

Rodgers is fine-last week he had an average game and the Packers still won. The expectations placed on him are so high that the slightest indication of him being "off" causes panic buttons to be pushed. I expect a huge bounceback today.

consistently missing receivers and forcing balls into 3 guys, that's playing fine.
