45-Man Gameday Roster Prediction Vs. Steelers

Below is the Packers' entire roster. Players in bold text are those I predict to be inactive on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers for the Super Bowl:

  • QB: Aaron Rodgers, Matt Flynn, Graham Harrell
  • RB: Brandon Jackson, Dimitri Nance, James Starks
  • FB: Korey Hall, John Kuhn, Quinn Johnson
  • WR: Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, James Jones, Jordy Nelson, Brett Swain
  • TE: Donald Lee, Tom Crabtree, Andrew Quarless
  • OL: Chad Clifton, Daryn Colledge, Josh Sitton, Scott Wells, Bryan Bulaga, Jason Spitz, T.J. Lang, Nick McDonald, Evan Dietrich-Smith
  • DL: Cullen Jenkins, B.J. Raji, Ryan Pickett, C.J. Wilson, Jarius Wynn, Howard Green
  • ILB: A.J. Hawk, Desmond Bishop, Matt Wilhelm, Robert Francois
  • OLB: Clay Matthews, Frank Zombo, Diyral Briggs, Erik Walden
  • CB: Charles Woodson, Tramon Williams, Sam Shields, Pat Lee, Brandon Underwood, Josh Gordy
  • S: Nick Collins, Charlie Peprah, Jarrett Bush, Atari Bigby
  • ST: Mason Crosby, Brett Goode, Tim Masthay

  • Donald Driver, Chad Clifton, Frank Zombo and Jason Spitz are all listed as probable for the Super Bowl. I expect them all to play.
  • Mike McCarthy said he'd give Erik Walden every opportunity to play, but the reality is he hasn't been a full participant in practice for two weeks including yesterday's jog-through. I expect Zombo to start at right outside linebacker and play a majority of the time.
  • The only difficult decision for me came down to a choice between Pat Lee and Brandon Underwood. If it was up to me, and I was on the coaching staff, Underwood would be inactive. But Lee was inactive for the NFC Championship game instead, so I'm not sure the coaching staff agrees.
  • There may be some logic in Lee's favor, however. He was limited in practice one day of practice prior to the Bears game, so he did have some legitimate injury concerns. But he does seem to be healthy now. I also think Lee might be the best option at kick returner given James Starks' bobbling of the football.
  • Everything else is the same as the NFC Championship game.

Looks good Brian. I to would go with Lee over Underwood mostly for Lee to return kicks. Seems to be our best bet back there. Too bad for Walden, would have been nice to have him and Zombo ready to go. Hopefully Zombo is not to rusty.
