45-Man Gameday Roster Prediction Vs. Cowboys
Ryan Pickett is predicted to play today. On the other side of the coin, Andrew Quarless and Mark Tauscher aren't expected to play.
Below is the Packers entire roster. Players in bold text are those I predict to be inactive on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys:
- QB: Aaron Rodgers, Matt Flynn
- RB: Brandon Jackson, Dimitri Nance
- FB: Korey Hall, John Kuhn, Quinn Johnson
- WR: Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, James Jones, Jordy Nelson, Brett Swain
- TE: Donald Lee, Tom Crabtree, Andrew Quarless
- OL: Chad Clifton, Mark Tauscher, Daryn Colledge, Josh Sitton, Scott Wells, Bryan Bulaga, Jason Spitz, T.J. Lang, Nick McDonald, Marshall Newhouse
- DL: Cullen Jenkins, B.J. Raji, Ryan Pickett, C.J. Wilson, Jarius Wynn, Howard Green
- ILB: A.J. Hawk, Brandon Chillar, Desmond Bishop, Matt Wilhelm
- OLB: Clay Matthews, Frank Zombo, Robert Francois, Diyral Briggs, Eric Walden
- CB: Charles Woodson, Tramon Williams, Sam Shields, Pat Lee, Brandon Underwood
- S: Nick Collins, Charlie Peprah, Jarrett Bush, Anthony Smith, Atari Bigby
- ST: Mason Crosby, Brett Goode, Tim Masthay
Notes:
- The Packers didn't activate Atari Bigby to sit the bench. He'll play. I can't imagine he'll start, but reports are that he's practiced with the first-string kickoff team.
- There's no reason to think the Packers will do anything different with the offensive line than they've done the past three weeks. Mark Tauscher, Marshall Newhouse and Nick McDonald will all be inactive.
- Andrew Quarless may be listed as "questionable," seeing as he went from practicing to not practicing this week, I have a hard time seeing him playing today.
- Donald Driver and Pat Lee have already been ruled "out." The loss of Driver and Quarless makes the Packers a little thin as far as receiving options, but they'll have to make due.
- Quinn Johnson and Diyral Briggs are predicted to be inactive, same as a week ago. That makes Dimitri Nance and Brandon Underwood active, unlike a week ago.

It would be great if the Packers made them look like a high school team today. But I think the Cowboys will be ready to play.

It's a dangerous game. They've been embarrassed so far this season and the coach is on the verge of being fired. I wouldn't take them lightly.

Brian... when are you going to start placing TJ Lang in with the DL where he belongs?
Brian Carriveau

LOL, maybe I should.

Brian and TJ have an agreement where he will always predict TJ active. W/O Quarless, the Packers TE's are Lee and Crabtree----yuck.
Add in the WR corp. with James Jones (I talk about myself in the 3rd person, fumble and drop TD passes) and the once formidible receiver corp. is vastly reduced.

Tom Crabtree is better than most people give him credit for. At training camp this year, I went in knowing he was a vicious blocker. Watching him, I was very surprised at some of the athletic catches he had made. a few looked like the type of catches that WR's, not TEs, make.
Don't get me wrong, he's no Jermichael Finley, but he's got some skills as a receiver, maybe even better than the average TE.
I think MM doesn't give him touches simply because he's such a good blocker they don't like letting him out of the backfield.
