I agree Aaron , I am hoping also that Ty Summers gets some reps inside , maybe Martinez is not getting enough down time which may explain his sporadic play.

Aaron, I like your picks of Sternberger, Campbell and Gary.

My three would be Sternberger, Valdez-Scantling and Danny Vitale. I pick Sternberger because I think they haven’t scratched his surface as a receiver. He is capable of the YAC that none of our TE’s can produce. They will find a way to get him the ball. Valdez-Scantling just because when you asked LaFleur about him he clearly indicated that they need to find ways to get him the ball. I bet he does just that. Lastly, I know you love Vitale but I just have a feeling he will get a much bigger role on some pass plays (they have tried a couple of times) and he will get some opportunities at the goal line.

Uhmm, I think they need help on D, moreso than on offense. They can't keep living on borrowed time on D. The D will not continue to be sustainable.

Barely scratched the surface? He's only been healthy for one game this season so far. So they haven't even seen the surface, much less scratched it. :)

Is Raven Green available yet? If so, he would be one to watch

Wow, three 'thumbs-down' on this? WTF?
It's amazing how many people have no clue, or haven't been watching the games.
The middle of the defense is what needs the most help, and Raven Greene was a big part of their early success in that area.

Only 2 players allowed back of IR.
They are already back at TE and S

I read in a chat on the Journal's site that Green had ankle surgery and won't be back this year.

This was an article on another site or 2 already, but I'll play along... Sternberger and/or Tonyan would help the offense immensely both in the run and pass game, Tonyam maybe not as much in the run. But adding another legit target would give the defense more to worry about, especially since they are only getting single coverage.

With the weather turning stopping the run will become more important. In that regard, getting Burks on the field and playing well would be huge.

I'm on board with Gary, but my hunch is the Packers are basically going to red shirt his rookie season. His only pass rush is a bull rush, so chances are he wouldn't help much anyway.

I’m watching Blake Martinez. I think he’s been truly awful this year and I want to make sure I’m right. And pray we draft an impact MLB in May, not just another guy

I totally agree - he had a couple of good games at the start of the season. I hope with film study and fresher legs that he has another couple of good games in him. I tend to think that he is overvalued as a middle linebacker and he needs to be subbed out with maybe Fackrell in order to keep him fresher. In looking at last nights game - some of those linebackers were tracking down and getting to the running backs out of the backfield and Martinez is simply too slow to do that.

Sternberger,Campbell, and MVS seem to me the guys to look at breaking out and making a difference. I want to list Mt. Adams on the dline but MVS has more potential.

1. Campbell. I think he is going to play a lot.
2. TE - Tonyan or Sternberger, perhaps both.
3. Vitale.

Honorable Mentions:
Lazard, Gary, and Chandon Sullivan (really just to see if he can get any snaps).

Down and Out due to quality of play: Montravius Adams, Josh Jackson, Burks.

The following get snaps only if there is an injury:
Tony Brown and Redmond only get snaps if there is an injury.

Agree on all. I am really disappointed in the fall off of Montravius Adams, was his injury more serious than we know. Subbed Vitale with another TE last game, don't know if it means anything. Waiting to see who the Packers release if and when Greene comes off IR. Right now Campbell is a defacto starter. Important to note that both MLF and Pettine have a 'football' healthy team going into second half, an unheard of luxury for this organization...

I MISS Randall Cobb...For the $5 million he's making in Dallas that would have been WELL SPENT here. I'm not faulting Gute here at all. Just saying the Packers could have used that kind of production, especially gaining 1st downs.

35 Receptions...495 Yards...3 TD's...14.1 YPC...26 1st downs...74.3% 1st down percentage

I miss young Jordy Nelson. I sure don't miss Jordy of the last couple years. Time to find a new Jordy to pair with Adams.

I agree, those are 3 that could make the biggest impact, and likely to do so; RGary for the reason you say, not that he showed anything yet, but that freshness at that position gives him a good chance to work in the mix with less wear n tear.

I'd put a WR here for about the same reasons as RGary is likely to rise up for his Dline. The #2 WR hasn't showed up, and any of MVS, Kumerow, Alison or Lazard have shown potential, but not consistent. That can all change late in season, as teams all increase their more sophisticated plays and strategies. I'm getting impatient with MVS after defending him through his still-young career. I'll go with Lazard as my emerging WR bet.

Impatient with MVS? Let him get healthy. He only got a handful of snaps, b/c he's clearly not well. Maybe remind ourselves of Adams' second season when he was playing with a bum ankle. Tough for a WR to do his job if he legs and feet don't function the way they should.

Would love to here more about some other under-the-radar players, some of them being discussed quite a bit in offseason and early season. What's going on (if anything), positive or not with;
TSummers
MCole
BTurner
JJackson
Kingsley
Ka'dar

Would love some CHTV spots on them. Maybe I missed stuff.

Great question. Given that we haven't seen much of these guys (other than turnstile Turner), you gotta wonder if they are not NFL ready. Having another starter showing up at LB, CB and DL would be a great late season bonus for this team.

I agree Ibraheim Campbell should be one of the three.
How about FB Danny Vitale as the second choice, playing as a blocker, but sometimes leaking out to catch passes.
Third would be CB Chandon Sullivan.

I'd like to have Lazard on the list, but he isn't that fast, running a 4.57 40 if I recall, though he often seems faster than that on the field. Since he won't run away from many, his forte as a 6'5" guy, is catching contested passes, while blocking out the defender. This doesn't match up that well with AR, who is seriously interception-averse. I do like the way Lazard fights for the ball. Lazard would have done better in a Favre led offense, who was much more willing to chuck the ball up in the air for his receiver to fight for.

AR is indeed interception averse. Good thing to be. He is not averse to putting the ball in places where only his guy can catch it in tight coverage, like toward the sideline or at the high point where only the taller guy like Lazard can get it. This is the kind of throw that can work in the red zone and why you always here about big bodied TEs being a weapon down there. Lazard fits the description in my mind.
After watching brady and wentz repeatedly throw the ball to who knows where or what last night I am reminded, again, of how good Rodgers is at putting the ball where it can be caught.

I’m going Lazard, he is taking #2 from all the other pretenders. I don’t care how fast he is, 6’5 and catches everything, he’s legit.

I dont even consider Lazard a breakout player, he already broke out. He is cemented as the #2 for me

I like the three chosen. Both Sternberger and Campbell are new, so if they play a lot, they will contribute. Hopefully to the plus side. I am just hoping that Gary steps up. The Smith's are playing way to much. So Gary is my hopeful choice. The only other is Lazard. Will he continue to improve and get more chances? He has the ability to be very significant.

Vitale is what he is. he is not going to become more and he is not a particularly good blocker. He never gets more than limited and spot snaps.

IN LB is where we need help. That starts with getting Blake off the field and down/distance decision. Blake should be off the field on plays where Mike P wants the other team to run but need pass defense. Blake is not good in any type of coverage.

On run downs where the given team shows a strong tendency to run Blake needs to be sitting and Goodson playing. IMO they are a wash in coverage but Goodson is better v the run and far better taking on blockers and far better and pushing runners back and not making a tackle going the wrong way
