The cadence part has been driving me nuts. I do hope they stop screwing around and just run the damn play. If they do that for a while, Rodgers will be able to use it again at some point in the future.

Heard today on the radio we are actually in the negative yardage on punt returns? for the season? I hope the staff gets that fixed.

Yeah, I saw they are at a -1.3 yards per return. I mean, I knew it was bad, but that is just unacceptable.

That's an EASY fix...FIRE his ass ASAP and let him go back to Vanderbilt and let Tramon Williams handle the duties until they get a bonafide PR. At least Williams can field the ball and maybe get a 5-yard return.

There were 2 hires to MLF staff that made me go HUH??? The O-Line coach and ST coach. The O-Line coach seems to be pretty decent. I mean you have to give him some credit for Jenkins AWESOME play and I think DB's play at LT is nothing more than an ailing back.

LaFleur didn't get the ST coach he wanted.

I think Aaron makes three good points.
With those aggressive defensive looks in the early downs, I’d like to see more of Rashan Gary. At week 11, there are no more rookies. Love to see them get the best athletes on the field and let ‘er rip.

Jones being 'unleashed' is a good idea. But, right now he has 943 yards from scrimmage, and 14 TD's. So, he's been limited until now? Also, he ended up on IR the previous three seasons. So, is it luck or judicious use of Jones that is keeping him healthy? As far as Pettine scheming for more pressure, that would be nice. But if we haven't seen it so far with the players he has, why should we believe he's been holding back his best pressure schemes for after the bye? And definitely, it would be nice to see some flexibility for when the ball will be snapped, rather than always running it down to the last second. But, as noted by PA, this is something that Rodgers tries to do to get a free play. Will he give up on it? Hopefully, but if he continues to delay the snap, what can LaFleur realistically do about it?

I said this on a previous comment section.

"What I'm hoping to see them do coming out of the bye on offense is to keep finding ways using the RB's in the passing game, namely Aaron Jones with Adams playing. When Adams was out the RB's (especially Jones) really got involved more in the offense as receivers. In the 4 games Adams has missed Jones had 22 catches for 280 yards and 3 TD's. In the 6 games with Adams, Jones has 13 catches for 74 yards and 0 TD's. They need to find a way to have both making plays."

I completely agree that they are going to get Jones way more involved in the offense. Though I don't think it will necessarily be at the expense of Williams. I just think they will find different ways to use them. Possibly using them together more.

But Jones absolutely has to be a key piece in the passing game. He is a mismatch against most defenses. Getting Jones more involved in the passing game will absolutely open the offense up more. Jones and Adams are our 2 most scary weapons. Time to get them the ball!

I agree with the comment about getting Gary more involved , he was the number one draft pick out of high school and a bonafide 1 st rounder , give him more reps , move Z Smith inside more and let’s see what happens.

Agreed about getting Gary more involved, but would have Gary inside and leave Z. outside. Gary is bigger and according to PFF a better than average run defender. Gary is also still limited in his pass rush moves so leave Z. outside and use Gary's size inside

Definitely needs to be an adjustment in the defensive tactics to include more blitzes in a concealed manner where the QB is unsure until the snap about who is coming through that line and who is peeling back in coverage. Pettine has got to pick more times when he sends more players to overwhelm the O-Line and get to the opponent’s QB...or at least causes him to hurry in making a decision to throw. Several other playoff bound teams seem to vary far more in their defensive schemes than the Packers, who appear unchanging on defense. Rivers said the same thing after he dismantled the Packer’s defense through the air sustaining many drives for points.

The Packers need to quit beating themselves- penalties, dropped passes, long pass attempts, passive defensive schemes, short punts, delay of games, etc..

Just do what you do well.

Calling for more blitzing is a way of saying we have to stop the bleeding caused by poor run D and MLB play. Blitzing won't help because we have Martinez and not a real MLB. All blitzes will do is isolate Martinez, leaving him alone in the middle. Ever follow Martinez on a 3rd down pass play?... He does nothing but stands in the middle like a traffic cop while TEs and receivers run freely by him. 90% of fans think that when you're being gouged for yardage like the Packers have been it's because we don't blitz enough. Good NFL QBs eat up the blitz. Sorry Nagler, it's the amateur solution you're advocating. As for those hoping for more Gary... has he made a tackle yet?

Martinez will not be isolated in the middle if he is the one doing the blitzing. He had 5.5 sacks last season.

A necessary adjustment is to limit / stop the self-inflicted wounds of false start and delay of game penalties, as yardage, field position and points will be tough enough to come by against SF so must minimize costing yourself penalty yardage.

Special teams must improve field position after punts and kick-offs and presumably a lot of 49er film study will yield some insights and schemes to improve the return game.

Take the short and mid-range plays available, move the chains and keep the 49er's offense off the field - and - use the RBs and TEs as
short yardage receivers.

With a great 8 and 2 record and a bye week for extra prep, believe MLF and his assistants will make the obvious necessary adjustments and
bring out a solid game plan on both sides of the ball to beat the 49ers.

Rodgers has been so successful getting teams to jump OS he's become a victim of his own success. If he starts using it less it might become more successful again. Defenses are obviously aware of it and look for it. Maybe cool it for a while and bring it back in the playoffs.

Can we please see more of the 2RB set or just have Jones in as slot receiver and Williams at the back? Get all the best players on the field including Williams over one of the 3rd or 4th options at WR.

15 False starts!! I agree with you totally. Rodgers cadence has "played itself out", everybody is ready for him, except our own guys. I think we have the best RB tandem in the league and should keep utilizing them both. Jamal is an awesome back and runs hard, different style. I think they compliment each other very well

More pressure on early downs won't help us stop the run. Somehow need to do that first so that teams feel the need to pass on early downs and pressure can make a difference. I think Jones is being fully utilized now and the unleashing will be for 12. Tempo and quick passing to a variety of receivers and then getting it to Adams in the red zone. The MVP is primed for a historic run!

I hope you're wrong about Jones. Williams runs hard and I think it's more about keeping Jones' legs fresh in games than saving him for the season. Hard to argue with his production this year as he's been used - almost even with McCaffrey's stats and he's by far the featured back in his offense.

One thing I'd like to removed from playbook is outside pitch plays - seem to go for a loss more often than a gain. Another, I'd like to see more change of directions plays - fake a quick toss to one side and hit a screen on the other side - very successful for some other teams - anything to slow down defenses. Lastly, maybe learn to stop the big run plays on D - I see a lot of holes that I could run through against our defense. Go Pack go! :)

Chicago, Minnesota and for half of the Dallas game we saw Green Bay impose their will on the other team. They need to get back to doing that.
While all of our eyes will be on the Packers game, if you can (we have no choice since we live in Dallas area) watch how New England tries to control the Cowboys. Does he stop Dak or Elliott and how does he do it? BB has been a master at making a team one dimensional, something Green Bay must do if they want to go far in the playoffs.
