They didn't really have the depth at safety last year. Good pick-up.
I heard this guy isn't necesarily a bad back-up he just kinda got on the bad side of someone on the coaching staff

I hear good things about this guy. We now have an experienced 3-4 safety who played with the best safety in the NFL. If Atari doesn't come back 100% or Nick Collins' mental lapses are too much, we can put this guy in. I'll take it.

It would have been funny if someone had blind sided him and knocked him out. I'd like to know what Dick LeBeau was yelling at him on the sideline.

Hey, Deion liked the high-step, so it must be okay!
Typical rookie. I hope he's grown up since then. I have to admit that I was disappointed to hear that Smith was the guy who guaranteed that the Steelers would beat the Patriots when they were 12-0 in 2007. Maybe being benched in 2008 humbled him. He does have some skills.

The guarantee didn't bother me. High stepping at your own 30 yard line though is ridiculous. I'm sure he won't do this again. But the fact that he had to be told that this wasn't acceptable is pretty telling.

I don't know why a rookie being stupid shocks anyone. This was 2 years ago, yet here we are. All people want to talk about is the high step and guarantee and NOT the fact that he was benched this last season, which is a bigger story if you ask me.
Okay, back to talking about a rookie doing stupid things.

Dale he got benched because he did not fit the scheme, not because he played bad.

Good to know a2x I was wondering that myself.
Now that I think about it, isn't that the same scheme the Packers are going to use?
