Quick Hits Browns
Take away the eight gazillion penalties and it wasn't a terrible performance. In fact, you could even throw out the term domination. Here are your quick hits.

Quick Hits
Not a lot of pass rush, but some nice play by Kampman and Jenkins.
Jermichael Finley suffered a knee sprain. You have to hope it's not too serious.
I hate to say it but Ryan Grant looked better. Ran tough and ran hard even through the injury. Nice job Ryan.
Brandon Jackson looked okay too.
I still think the first quarter sneak was a first down. Bad call.
I LOVED watching Aaron Rodgers get pissed off at the late hit and pushing the defensive lineman. Nice work.
Fall on the ball, we could have had another recovery. How Hawk missed that is beyond me.
Come on Barnett, really nice game but you needed that interception.
Spencer Havner is proving why he made the roster. I love that guy now.
Donald Driver is a superstar. Does anyone think he may have lost 1/2 a step though?
How many carries does it take to get it in the endzone from the one? Far too many if you ask me.
We need to get better in the red zone.
Again, WAY too many penalties. I don't mind the aggressive ones as much, but this is getting ridiculous. Cue IronMan.
Mason Crosby is absolutely terrible this year.
Was happy to see a Matt Flynn appearance. We need that.
MVP
Spencer Havner
Overall, great game. Nice work by Rodgers getting rid of the ball, we actually had a running game, and the defense played lights out. Still, the Browns are hardly a solid opponent. Let's hope we can carry this momentum into what is probably the most highly anticipated game in NFL history.
I will be gone until next weekend moving. I will try and get posts up if they come in. Otherwise, I will join you next weekend from my new home state of Minnesota. It's going to be an odd, odd week.
Oh, by the way... that is why we got rid of Favre. The guy is terrible in the clutch in a meaningful game. That totally made my day.

Ironic that you leave for Minnesota just as Favre comes back to Wisconsin...

It would have made my month if Ryan Picket would have made that pick today. Penalties were bad, but otherwise they executed pretty well.
The Vikings are still dangerous, but the defense gives up far too many points. Pack need to win next week in order to keep the division race alive. How funny is the Bears game right now?
October 25, 2009 at 05:33 pm
8th defense in yards. T-5th in Points per game. Thanks to the Lions and Browns, but thanks to Capers!
-
Of course we have a running game, we have Mighty Quinn blocking. That's no coincidence.
-
Will wait till next week to solidify it, but it sure appears we have a LT for the future. Overall, GREAT play by the OL.
-
Havner was awesome.
-
So MM, if you want to keep winning, keep Lang and Quinn on the field. Capers, continue to do what you're doing. The same goes to you, Kampman. Nice to have you back.
October 25, 2009 at 05:36 pm
Yes, Def keep Lang on the field. Even if Clifton starts, he's making a case to play over Barbre
October 25, 2009 at 06:52 pm
Wait...who'd you play, again..??
Oh yeah..the Brownies..hahaaha..snigger...
(Can't wait for Favre to come into Lambeau and clean your clock...AGAIN!!!)
yeah.
October 25, 2009 at 07:15 pm
Can't wait for Favre to come into Lambeau and fumble and get intercepted to lose the game... AGAIN!!!
yeah.
October 27, 2009 at 04:58 am
RS..
Yeah..like it was ALL Favre's fault, right you moron? He hit the guy right in the hands with the pass, but it was his fault..hahaha..You're a joke.
Can't wait to see Erin Rodgers crapping his uniform again as the Viking's sack his ass over and over..
Can't wait to hear about Ted Thompson crying himself to sleep again in the Green Bay bathouse as he's humilated once again!
Yeah!
October 27, 2009 at 07:58 am
First of all, Moron? Really? Can't make an argument and need to stick to offenses?
-
And second, like it was ALL Favre's asset the SF game?
Such a double-standard...

Favre isn't a winner today. Can't wait for Favre to come to Lambeau again

Nothing uglier or more pathetic than a troll. The only thing worse is going to play for a hated division rival.

Long range weather for next Sunday. 43 degrees - Wind 8mph west - 20% chance of Rain. Not the Hump is it? The cold damp weather will cause that super glued bicep to hurt and throb. Longwell's range drops by 10 to 15 yards. And that damned piece of shit horn will be all alone in that glorifdied inner tube of a stadium
Lang should start unless Ckifton can demonstrate he can move with quickness and poswer.

This was a nice win.
I agree that the pass rush could've been better.
Hawk must not have seen that fumble. But he had a very good game.
I don't think Driver has lost half a step. I bet he's already caught more deep balls than he did all of last season. The guy who caught up to him on that long TD had momentum.
The penalties were not bad. There were eight of them, but two were kickoffs that went out of bounds. So there were really six. At least a couple of them were questionable calls, and I don't think the offensive line committed any. Those O-line penalties are the ones that have been most annoying this season.
Mason Crosby has actually been pretty good this season. Today's miss was from 55 yards. I think all of his misses so far this season have been long ones like that, at least in the high 40's.
I hope you're kidding about Spencer Havner as MVP. It was either Grant or Rodgers. I'd give it to Rodgers.

I think Havner gets the game ball, he elevated his play far more than anyone else. Mason Crosby kicked two balls out of bounds, that's worse than anything else if you ask me.
October 26, 2009 at 09:52 am
Crosby was kicking the ball away from Josh Cribbs, who is the Browns' only real weapon, so I can live with the two kickoffs out of bounds, especially considering that one of them hit the pylon. Also, he had a couple of touchbacks and Cribbs did not have any big returns.
Kicking it out of bounds is not good, but under the circumstances I didn't see it as a big deal. If you average out the Browns' starting field position after Crosby's kickoffs, it was probably around the 25-30 yard line, which is about average.
October 25, 2009 at 09:33 pm
first-
how can you say crosby has been horrible this year? 55 yarders are not the easiest kicks to make. i believe he just went 4/4 a week ago....a missed 55 yarder at the beginning of a game against a REALLY bad team is not grounds for sucking. missing a game winner against a tough division opponent is another story, and we haven't seen one of those this year.
second-
it's hard to tell if driver has lost a step becuase he never has been the fastest guy around, but somehow when he catches the ball behing the defenders he finds a way to get to the house...
October 25, 2009 at 10:13 pm
Exactly about Driver. Can he still outjump defenders? YES. Can he still get separation from DBs? YES. Are his hands as good as before? I would say BETTER.
Same Driver, if you ask me. Actually, I believe it's been his best season since I can remember. He's just playing lights out.
-
Gotta give props to Jennings. Had he not been there, and been the focus of atention, Driver wouldn't be performing like he is. But don't worry, soon enough the attention will go back to Driver, and then it'll be Jennings who'll torn the defenses apart.

Jeremiah,
Dude, he kicked two kickoffs out of bounds...
October 26, 2009 at 10:34 am
So you're picking on Crosby for doing the right thing and kicking away from the only real treat they have? BTW, he started doing it after Cribbs got a 40+ yard return. And you don't know if it was a coach call to kick it out of bounds.
October 26, 2009 at 09:45 pm
ahhh, big deal......plus one was real close. that isn't enough reason to say he has been horrible. he just needs to "get that cleaned up"....
October 26, 2009 at 11:47 am
Hopefully the o-line will continue to improve. Lang-College-Wells-Sitton-Barbre I think might be the winning formula, perhaps clifton over lang, but lang has been playing his you know what off!!
October 26, 2009 at 11:50 am
Lang over Barbre is clifton is back?
October 26, 2009 at 02:33 pm
Don't touch Lang. Clifton needs to show he's back to 2007 form. 2008 form won't do it. Tauscher played miles better than Clifton in 2008.
October 27, 2009 at 05:23 am
Right now I'd say Tauscher has an uphill battle showing he's better than Barbre. Barbre has improved to a more consistent level and Tauscher hasn't played for a long while. It's a crucial game this week and putting Tausch in might be a bit of a gamble that he's back on form. I stick with Barbre unless it's very clear Tauscher has the edge.

A much improved Packers side. However the game highlighted one thing for me, I think McCarthy is the wrong coach to lead these guys to bigger and better things. His play calling and his lack of player discipline is getting on my nerves a lot. However on a brighter note I was impressed once again with our Defense..... WE CAN STOP THE RUN NOW..... FUCK YEAH!!!
