Get it Cleaned
Mike McCarthy is starting to piss me off. In his never ending mission to state the obvious, once again he decides (much like his defensive coordinator) to remain totally vanilla.
Mike McCarthy is starting to piss me off. In his never ending mission to state the obvious, once again he decides (much like his defensive coordinator) to remain totally vanilla.
In a quote from the Green Bay Press-Gazette McCarthy came up with the following in-depth statement:
“Our house is messy right now."
Really Mike? Way to state the obvious.
The Packer's house has been messy for three weeks now, and that was pretty obvious to even the most casual fan. The real question is - how the hell are you going to fix it.
I would start by taking the obviously under qualified Bob Sanders and sending him to nearest head-set at the drive up counter at Wendy's.
Then, I would start to find out why your team has no toughness, no discipline, and no vocal leader.
You could then move on to figuring out why no one looks excited or in the least bit pumped up out on the playing field.
Then, you can start chewing some ass for celebrating late touchdowns when you're still down a score down and facing an on-side kick situation.
Your team looks like a bunch of pansies out there. Where is the desire? Where is the toughness?
We are sick of the excuses and the generalizations, get it fixed and get it fixed now.

yeah maybe next time Mike should hold a power point presentation with the exact things we need to get better at. A detailed itinerary for the other team to key on next week. I mean really, what do you want him to say after a loss? We lost, he knows it...but he shouldn't have to divulge his tactics in a meaningless presser, just so the fan base doesnt freak out.
and do you really think firing Bob Sanders, when his best cornerback and best Dlineman and best Safties are all out with injury, is a smart rational move? No its not.
We need to get better no doubt. but firing coaches is way way way premature.
you do raise good points about the toughness though, and leadership. I really don't mind regular season losses, because I mean NY won the ship last year with 6 losses in the regular season. But i do mind losing because someone else worked harder.... injuries or not.
just breath. it ain't over... not by a longshot.

I got bashed by a few people here earlier in the season when they claimed, just because he doesn't publicly acknowledge penalties are a problem, doesn't mean his is not taking steps to correct them.
Well, here we are in week 17, still the dumbest, most undisciplined team in the NFL. Perhaps he actually thinks they are not a problem. Sure looks that way to me.

Actually penalties have been down bigtime lately.
This just in, when backups become starters, more mistakes happen! More at nine!

IM:
Let's say he has addressed the isue of penalties in the locker room on and the practice field..Say he has made the guys do extra work, and or fined them.
But they are still committing them,so what is he suppose to do?
Is he suppose to bench them and put even worse players in their spots?

Dale you are right. i checked, and since Nov 19th, penalties have decreased by about 30 yards a game. We still lead the league, according to RaiderPride, but we were averaging about 75 yards a game, and that has dropped to around 40 or so since November. Whatever MM has done has worked. I was wrong. Ouch.

All I heard was "Dale you are right" because it's true. I never said we were in a good place with it.
Have you come out and said you want McCarthy fired yet? I honestly haven't noticed, but if you haven't, you really should just come out with it.

You had me at Dale...

I don't believe a coach should be fired after one bad season. Just as Sherman should not have been fired after one bad season.

Sherman was fired for many many more reasons than the one bad year. The bad year was just icing.
