Titans CB Rod Hood Recovering From Sports Hernia

Tennessee Titans cornerback Rod Hood is recovering from a sports hernia surgery and will miss the remainder of the team's "Organized Team Activity" sessions scheduled for May, Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean reports.

According to Wyatt, Hood has been bothered by the injury since last season.

The Titans suffered a rash of injuries at the cornerback position during the 2009 season, and signed Hood in Week 6. Hood started four of the six games he was active for the Titans, totaling 16 tackles and three interceptions, returning one 31 yards for a touchdown against the Buffalo Bills.

Hood was re-signed to a one-year contract in March, and is expected to compete with Ryan Mouton and Tye Hill for the team's nickel cornerback role.
