Steelers Sign 6th Round WR Antonio Brown

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Pittsburgh Steelers have signed sixth-round wide receiver Antonio Brown to a three-year contract.

According to Schefter, Brown received a $73,075 signing bonus, making Brown's contract worth $1.288 million dollars.

The 5-10, 186-pound Brown caught a Central Michigan record 305 passes for 3,199 yards and 22 touchdowns before opting to forgo his senior season to enter the 2010 NFL Draft. Brown added 540 yards and 4 touchdowns as a ball-carrier, and averaged 23.1 yards on 113 kick returns, and 15.7 yards on 52 punt returns during his three seasons at CMU.

Brown scored six return touchdowns, earning MAC Special Teams Player of the Year in 2008 and 2009, and first-team All-MAC honors as a return specialist in each of his three seasons. Brown was a second-team All-MAC selection at wide receiver as a freshman, and first-team All-MAC wideout as a sophomore and junior.

Brown’s special teams prowess are likely his key to a spot on the Steelers’ 53-man roster this summer.

Brown is the fourth of the Steelers' ten draft choices to agree to a contract. Third-round wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders tweeted on Monday that he had agreed to terms on a three-year contract, and fourth-round linebacker Thaddeus Gibson and seventh-round defensive lineman Doug Worthington signed contracts last week.
