Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger Will Play Saturday Night

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will play Saturday night against the New York Giants, head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed on Thursday, Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

When Roethlisberger will play hasn't been determined, as Tomlin said the quarterback rotation hasn't been finalized.

"Some of those decisions are made last-minute in the preseason," Tomlin said. "That's just how it goes."

Byron Leftwich started the pre-season opener against the Detroit Lions, and is expected to open the regular season while Roethlisberger serves his suspension. Dennis Dixon is expected to open the regular season as the #2 quarterback, but offensive coordinator Bruce Arians has a package of plays that utilize Dixon's running ability.
