Shawn Crable Expected to Fill 53rd Spot on Patriots' Roster

Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe reports linebacker Shawn Crable is expected to be elevated to the active roster.

The 78th overall pick of the 2008 NFL Draft out of Michigan, Crable (6-5, 243) has spent his entire career with New England, but has yet to appear in a regular season NFL game. A shin injury landed Crable on injured reserve midway through his rookie season, and a pre-season groin injury cost him all of 2009.

Crable is currently on New England's practice squad, and his signing would fill the roster spot vacated when running back Kevin Faulk was placed on injured reserve with a torn ACL.
