Seahawks Place CB Roy Lewis on IR

The Seattle Seahawks have placed cornerback Roy Lewis on injured reserve, Eric Williams of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.

A former undrafted free agent from the University of Washington, Lewis has been with the Seahawks since joining their practice squad last September. Activated to the 53-man roster last November, Lewis has 29 tackles, including one quarterback sack, and four passes defensed in 22 games.

Lewis earned a special teams captaincy this summer, and has eight tackles and a fumble recovery on special teams this season. A knee injury landed Lewis on Seattle's injury report as probable in Week 14, and as questionable for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Lewis dressed for the 34-18 loss, but did not register any statistics.

Rookie cornerback Marcus Brown has been signed off the practice squad to replace Lewis on the 53-man roster.
