Seahawks LB Leroy Hill Facing Domestic Violence Charges

Seattle Seahawks linebacker Leroy Hill was arrested Saturday night, and has been charged with domestic assault, KING-5 in Seattle reports.

According to the report, Issaquah (Wash.) police were summoned to Hill's house at 11:54pm on Saturday, where officers discovered injuries on Hill's live-in girlfriend that indicated that an assault had taken place.

Hill's girlfriend told the responding officers that Hill was responsible for her injuries. Hill was then taken into custody, and charged with Assault 4th Degree/Domestic Violence.

Ten days earlier, Hill plead guilty to marijuana possession charges in the state of Georgia, and was sentenced to 12 months probation, 30 hours of community service, is required to complete a drug and alcohol abuse program within 180 days, and faced $550 in fines and court costs.

Hill, a third-round pick (98th overall) out of Clemson in 2005, has started 61 of his 67 games for the Seahawks, totaling 375 tackles and 14.5 quarterback sacks.

After removing the franchise tag from him, the Seahawks signed Hill to a six-year, $36 million dollar contract extension last off-season. Hill's contract could be worth as much as $38 million dollars, with $13 million dollars guaranteed, including Hill's $6 million dollar base salary in 2010.

Hill missed five games with a groin injury last season. In 11 games, Hill posted 46 tackles and one quarterback sack.
