Saints Sign 2nd Round OT Charles Brown

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the New Orleans Saints have signed second-round offensive tackle Charles Brown.

Brown received a four-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Brown spent his first two years at USC as a reserve lineman, primarily backing up left tackle Sam Baker (Atlanta) until taking over the starting job in 2008. Brown earned All-Pac-10 honors after both seasons as a starter, including first-team after the 2009 season.

The 6-5, 303-pounder has prototype size, length, and athleticism to play left tackle in the NFL, and could push restricted free agent Jermon Bushrod for a starting job this season.

If not, Brown will be the Saints' "swing tackle", backing up Bushrod and starting right tackle Jon Stinchcomb.
