Redskins Sign FB Carey Davis

The Washington Redskins have signed veteran fullback Carey Davis, Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com reports.

Originally signed by the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Illinois in 2004, Davis has 118 rushing yards and 17 receptions for 76 yards for the Pittsburgh Steelers over the last previous three seasons.

Davis also had 25 tackles, including a team-high 17 in 2007, and a pair of fumble recoveries for the Steelers between 2007-09.

The 5-10, 225-pound Davis has also had stints with the Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Miami Dolphins. In four playoff games, including Super Bowl XLIII, Davis has 4 carries for 3 yards, and 7 receptions for 47 yards, with 3 special teams tackles.

Redskins fullback Mike Sellers sprained a knee last night against the Baltimore Ravens.
